Freiburg used a 2-1 win against Mainz to equal points with Union Berlin at the top of the table.
Hoffenheim dropped a position down to 5th after a 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin.
Dortmund dropped two positions down to 4th after losing 3-2 in Cologne.
Bochum remains bottom of the league without a win.
Stuttgart remains in the bottom three without a win.
The defeat to Bayern Munich dropped Leverkusen down two positions to fall between Bochum and Stuttgart in the standings.
Werder Bremen moved into the top half of the league table with their 5-1 win against Monchengladbach.
Monchengladbach dropped three positions down to 9th.

Bayern Munich needed this win as a statement.
Leroy Sane had Bayern Munich a goal up in the 3rd minute, Jamal Musiala doubled the lead in the 17th minute, and Sadio Mane tripled it in the 39th minute to get Bayern Munich in a commanding 3-0 lead at the break. Bayern Munich ended up a 4-0 winner against Leverkusen when Thomas Muller added another goal in 84th minute.
Bayern Munich had gone 4 league games without a win before this game (3D, 1L).
FC Koln came from a goal down to take all three points at home from a 3-2 win against a Borussia Dortmund side that was looking to follow a Revierderby win with another win.
Union Berlin’s first defeat of the season came in a 2-0 loss at Frankfurt.
Randal Kolo Muani picked up a second yellow card in the 68th minute but the numerical disadvantage did not stop Frankfurt from protecting their 2-goal lead to hand Union Berlin a first league defeat of the season.

Wolfsburg doubled their league win to move three points away from Stuttgart.
Yannick Gerhardt headed in the winning goal in the first minute of the final added time to get Wolfsburg a 3-2 home win to keep Stuttgart without a league win.

Ermedin Demirovic gave Augsburg a 2-goal lead that was wiped out by the 63rd minute when Tom Krauss added his goal to Simone Terodde’s goal in the 33rd minute, but Andre Hahn’s 77th-minute goal restored the lead for a 10-man Augsburg to win 3-2 away against Schalke.
