The French Ligue 1 after 9 rounds – PSG, Marseille, and Lens are still unbeaten.

 

LIGUE 1 – Round 9

The teams occupying the top 5 spots in the league standings at the start of the round were all winners in this round to remain as they were.
Marseille opened the round with a 3-0 win at Angers.
Paris St. Germain matched the points with a win at home against Nice.
Lorient narrowly defeated Lille, Lens narrowly defeated Lyon, and Monaco were convincing winners against Nantes.

Brest move up a position with a point from a draw with Auxerre but the bottom three remain as it was; Ajaccio, Strasbourg, and Brest.

The season will enter the 10th round with Strasbourg as the only team without a win, and Paris St. Germain, Marseille, and Lens as the teams unbeaten.

Marseille followed the two points dropped against Rennes with three points gained from a 3-0 win against an Angers side that was looking for their third win in a row after having been without a league win all season.

Rennes followed the two points dropped against Marseille with three points gained from a 3-1 win against a 10-man Strasbourg side that remains without a league win.

Kylian Mbappe came off the bench in the 59th minute and restored Paris St. Germain’s lead in the 83rd minute for a 2-1 win against Nice.
Gaetan Laborde had scored in the opening minute of the second half for Nice to get even on the scoreboard after Lionel Messi’s freekick had put Paris St. Germain in the lead in the 28th minute.

Lille has been alternating between a win and a defeat in their last 7 league matches.
A 10-man Lorient secured three points through Thoe Le Bris’s 87th-minute goal to use a 2-1 win against Lille to pick up their fifth successive league win since their 5-2 defeat at Lens.

Two goals in the dying minutes of the match handed Ajaccio a 3-1 home defeat against Clermont Foot. The result brought Ajaccio back to a defeat after picking up their first league win in the last round.

A 10-man Auxerre came from a goal down to take a point at home in 1-1 draw with Brest.
A 10-man Toulouse held on to a 4-1 lead to win 4-2 at home against Montpellier.

Troyes came from a goal down on two occasions to save a point in a 2-2 draw with Reims. Jackson Rorozo’s 90th-minute equalizer secured the deserved point for Troyes.

It’s 4 league wins in a row for Monaco after Wissam Ben Yedder’s hattrick secured three points for them in a 4-1 win against Nantes.

(4) Lyon has now lost as many matches as they’ve won in the opening 9 rounds of the season. Florian Sotoca converted from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to get Lens a 1-0 win against Lyon.
