German BUNDESLIGA – Round 8

BAYERN MUNICH VS BAYER LEVERKUSEN: After their defeat against Augsburg made it 4 straight league games without a win, Bayern Munich will be attempting to end the poor run by going for a victory at home against a Bayer Leverkusen side that should also be doing better than what they’ve done with the opening 7 rounds of the German Bundesliga season.
Bayern Munich is out of the top four, while Bayer Leverkusen is in a relegation battle.

RB LEIPZIG VS BOCHUM: Losing ‘3-0’ against Monchengladbach in their last league game put RB Leipzig with more league defeats than wins, and draws. RB Leipzig will want to get back on a winning track under the new management when they take on a Bochum side that is sitting at the bottom of the Bundesliga table without a win.

FREIBURG VS MAINZ: There are three points separating the two teams so Mainz can cancel out the point-gap with a win at Freiburg.
A back-to-back draw in the league has Freiburg in third place and three points from the top of the league table.

FC KOLN VS DORTMUND: A win in Cologne will keep Dortmund in second place while boosting their chance of climbing to the top of the pile if Frankfurt does them a favor.
Dortmund is two points from the top of the league table after the Revierderby win in the previous round.

FRANKFURT VS UNION BERLIN: Avoiding defeat at Frankfurt will keep Union Berlin as the only unbeaten side in the German Bundesliga but a win will guarantee they remain top of the league table with a point gap. Frankfurt is just two points away from the ‘top four’.

WERDER BREMEN VS MONCHENGLADBACH: A 3-0 win against RB Leipzig in the last round was Monachenglabach’s first league win in four matches. They are on equal points with Bayern Munich and can make a move into the ‘top four’ at the end of the 8th round if they get the maximum points in Bremen.
Monchengladbach has a three-point lead on Werder Bremen in the league so that will be wiped away if the home team wins the fixture.

HERTHA BERLIN VS HOFFENHEIM: Hertha Berlin has picked up two draws to remain unbeaten since they won their only game of the season (2-0 win at Augsburg).
Hoffenheim will need a good result in Berlin to guarantee their place in the ‘top four’.

English PREMIER LEAGUE – Round 8*

ARSENAL VS TOTTENHAM: A North London derby that will definitely shape the top end of the league table.
There is a point between the two clubs
Arsenal needs to win to guarantee they stay on top of the league table.

MANCHESTER CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED: Manchester City is a point from the top of the league table and 5 points away from a Manchester United side that is on a 4-game winning streak in the league with a game in hand.

LIVERPOOL VS BRIGHTON: After six matches played of the new season, it’s Brighton that is in the ‘top four’ while Liverpool sits in 8th place. Brighton will need a result at Anfield to keep their league position. Liverpool will be eager to get into the title race.

Italian SERIE A – Round 8

Napoli and Atalanta will both be playing at home for a win to remain the teams with the most points in the league.
NAPOLI VS TORINO
ATALANTA VS FIORENTINA

INTER MILAN VS ROMA: A point separates the two sides in the league as Inter Milan and Roma are both coming from a defeat in their last league match. Roma will have to avoid defeat at the San Siro to stay above Inter Milan in the league.

EMPOLI VS AC MILAN: After a 2-1 defeat to Napoli, AC Milan will be taking on an Empoli side that is coming to this tie from their first league win of the season (1-0 win against Bologna).

LAZIO VS SPEZIA: Lazio must beat Spezia to guarantee a ‘top four’ position in the league at the end of the eighth round.

JUVENTUS VS BOLOGNA: Losing to Monza in the last round was the third straight league game without a win for a Juventus side that has only managed just two wins from their first 7 league matches. Juventus is at risk of falling into the bottom half of the league standings if they don’t get a win against Bologna.

HELLAS VERONA VS UDINESE: To keep pace in the title race with Napoli and Atalanta, while keeping the teams from Milan and Rome away, Udinese would need to grab the maximum points against Hellas Verona.

Spanish LA LIGA – Round 7

ATHLETIC CLUB VS ALMERIA: A win for Athletic Club will keep them in the ‘top four’ at the end of the 7th round.

SEVILLA VS ATLETICO MADRID: Atletico Madrid will like to bounce back from the Madrid Derby defeat with a win in Seville against a Sevilla side that has been struggling to find good run of form since the start of the season. Both clubs finished ‘top four’ last season but are currently out of the ‘top 6’. Atletico Madrid is 7th in the league after 6 rounds, while Sevilla is 15th.

MALLORCA VS BARCELONA: Barcelona will go to Mallorca for the three points to stay close to Real Madrid in the title race and be in position to take advantage of any opportunity that comes if Real Madrid drops points.

CELTA VIGO VS REAL BETIS: Only Barcelona and Real Madrid have more points than Real Betis after 6 rounds. A win against Celta Vigo will guarantee Real Betis remain in third place and stay at least three points from the top of the league.

REAL MADRID VS OSASUNA: Real Madrid will want to extend their perfect winning start with a home win against an Osasuna team that is just a point from being a part of the current ‘top four’ in the league standings.

French LIGUE 1 – Round 9

PARIS ST. GERMAIN VS NICE: Paris St. Germain guarantees their 2-point lead at the top of the standing and will stay unbeaten in the league if they win at home against Nice.

ANGERS VS MARSEILLE: Dropping points against Rennes in the last round pulled Marseille 2-points away from the top of the league. A win against Angers will be required for Marseille to guarantee they hold on to the second place. Both Lorient and Lens are in a position to take advantage of any points Marseille drops at Angers.

LORIENT VS LILLE: Lorient will be going for their 5th win in a row when they take on a Lille side that has been having a patchy season in results. Being three points from the top of the league means a win for Lorient could see them climb further up the league.

LENS VS LYON: Lyon will be staring at a fourth straight league defeat when they travel to face an unbeaten Lens side that will be using the fixture to try and recoup the points they dropped in a goalless draw with Nantes in the last round.

MONACO VS NANTES: Monaco looking for their fourth win in a row when they take on a Nantes side that has only had a win this season.
