After a 5-1 defeat at Rennes to kick off their season, newly-promoted Metz picked up their first point at home against Marseille. Metz came from a goal down to take a 2-1 lead with ten men. Vitor Oliveira came into the game in the 75th minute and scored the goal that saved Marseille from defeat in the 82nd minute.
Montpellier bounced back from the points dropped in a 2-2 draw with newly-promoted Le Havre to hand Lyon a back-to-back defeat. Montpellier picked up 3 points on the road by thrashing Lyon 4-1. Lyon was looking for results at home after opening their season with a 2-1 defeat in Strasbourg.
Paris St. Germain is without a win in their opening two league games. They shared the points with Toulouse in a 1-1 draw after kicking their season off with a goalless draw with Lorient.
A 10-man Lille went on to double their lead and beat Nantes 2-0.
Takumi Minamino’s first-half brace set Monaco on track to a 3-0 home win against Strasbourg.
