Chris Wood made a pivotal impact when he entered the game in the 84th minute, scoring the decisive goal just 5 minutes later for Nottingham Forest. This restored their early lead and led them to a ‘2-1’ victory over Sheffield United. Notably, newly-promoted Sheffield United have suffered losses in their opening two matches.

Bryan Mbeumo’s brace propelled Brentford to their first victory of the season, following a draw with Tottenham, as they triumphed ‘3-0’ against Fulham.

Despite Alexis Mac Allister receiving a red card, Liverpool continued their winning streak after a draw against Chelsea in the opening round. Overcoming an early deficit, Liverpool secured a ‘3-1’ win over Bournemouth.

Brighton claimed their first two league wins with identical ‘4-1’ scores. After a ‘4-1’ victory at home against Luton Town, they replicated the success with another ‘4-1’ win away against Wolves.

Tottenham emerged victorious at home against Manchester United, with Pape Sarr’s 49th-minute goal reinvigorating the team. This victory followed their opening round draw with Brentford, resulting in a ‘2-0’ win against Manchester United.

Julian Alvarez’s lone goal secured a victory for Manchester City against Newcastle, who were riding high from a ‘5-1’ win against Aston Villa. The defending champions passed yet another test.

Aston Villa made up for their 4-goal deficit against Newcastle in the opening round by defeating Everton ‘4-0’. Everton, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, are off to a less promising start this season.

Chelsea’s early season struggles continue, as they remain winless after two games. Enzo Fernandez’s missed penalty came back to haunt Chelsea when West Ham reclaimed the lead in the second half. Nayef Aguerd, who initially gave West Ham the lead, was sent off in the 67th minute after receiving a yellow card. Despite being numerically disadvantaged, West Ham held onto their 2-1 lead, eventually adding another goal (via a penalty) to secure a ‘3-1’ victory over Chelsea.

A 10-man Arsenal managed to preserve their second-half lead, securing another narrow victory. Martin Odegaard’s 53rd-minute penalty proved decisive as Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace.
