Although Monaco deserved more from the game, they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Lyon. The winning goal came from substitute Jeffinho, who scored two minutes after coming on in the 83rd minute. The win was a huge boost for Lyon, who have been battling relegation since the start of the season.
Both teams lost a player to a red card in the 81st minute, but Le Havre won’t be bothered because they were three goals up by then and went on to secure a ‘3-1’ win against a Nice side that appears to be among the title contenders in Ligue 1 as things stand. Scoring three goals against Nice is impressive, especially considering they had conceded six goals in the 15 league games leading up to this fixture.
Lens extended their unbeaten run in the league to 11 with a ‘2-0’ win against Reims, handing Reims consecutive league defeats.
Brest found two goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to win at Nantes.
Strasbourg won back-to-back league games following a ‘2-1’ win against Le Havre with the same scoreline at Lorient.
Montpellier earned a win at Metz thanks to Maxim Esteve’s 9th-minute goal, which stood up for the rest of the game. It was the team’s first victory in seven matches.
A two-goal lead in the first half held for Marseille to keep the 3 points at home through a ‘2-1’ win against Clermont.
Kylian Mbappe gave PSG a lead in the 66th minute from the penalty spot but it didn’t hold to the final whistle as Jonathan David scored in the dying minutes of the final added time to see Lille avoid a home defeat to PSG.
