Defending Champions Barcelona Held to 10-Man Stalemate by Getafe
The opening round saw 7 winners, with Atletico Madrid claiming the top spot on the table after a convincing ‘3-1’ win against newly-promoted Granada in the round’s final match. Meanwhile, Barcelona began their season with a hard-fought draw against Getafe.
Rayo Vallecano secured a winning start to their season, netting two first-half goals from penalties for a ‘2-0’ victory against Almeria. In the 62nd minute, Javier Guera entered the game and found the winning goal in the 88th minute, propelling Valencia to a ‘2-1’ victory over Sevilla.
Points were shared in the match between Real Sociedad and Girona. Artem Dovbyk equalized for Girona in the 72nd minute, canceling out Takefusa Kubo’s early 5th-minute lead for Real Sociedad.
Although Vedat Muriqi missed a first-half penalty, Antonio Raillo’s 70th-minute equalizer rescued Mallorca from defeat against Las Palmas, resulting in a ‘1-1’ draw between the teams.
Jude Bellingham marked his first competitive game for Real Madrid with a goal, helping his new team begin the season with a ‘2-0’ away victory over Athletic Club. Rodrygo opened the scoring.
Osasuna secured a 2-0 away win against Celta Vigo, while Real Betis clinched a ‘2-1’ victory at Villarreal thanks to a late header from Willan Jose.

A 7th-minute goal from Federico San Emeterio was enough to earn Cadiz three points at home against Alaves.
In a challenging start, newly-promoted Granada faced a 3-1 defeat against Atletico Madrid, with Memhphis Depay scoring the decisive game-winning goal.
