Athletic Club bounced back from a ‘3-0’ Basque derby defeat with a ‘3-0’ win over the bottom-table Almeria side that will go into the tenth round of the season without a win.

Aleix Garcia scored the game’s only goal to give Girona a win over a 10-man Cadiz team and saw his side bounce back to a win after suffering their first league defeat of the season in the last round against Real Madrid. The result also marked back-to-back defeats for Cadiz.

Jude Bellingham’s brace was the foundation for a ‘4-0’ win for Real Madrid against Osasuna. It could have been a ‘5-0’ win had Joselu converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.

Youssef En-Nesyri scored in the 6th minute of added time to save Sevilla from a home defeat to Rayo Vallecano. The 2-2 draw was Rayo Vallecano’s fourth successive draw in the league, and for Sevilla, it was the best they could do after their defeat to Barcelona.

Antoine Griezmann converted from the penalty spot in the 89th minute to restore Atletico Madrid’s lead and earn his side a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad. The result kept Atletico Madrid in the top four with a game in hand.

Despite going down to 10 players in the 30th minute (Domingos Duarte accumulated yellow cards), Getafe took a point away from a struggling Celta Vigo side. In hindsight, Iago Aspas’ failure to convert from the penalty spot in the 14th minute could have been the game decider for Celta Vigo.
