Some football to close out the year.

We close out the year with league football from the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A. Additionally, a Super Cup final is scheduled to take place in Turkey between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Inter Milan will finish the year at the top of the Serie A standings, while Liverpool will be hoping to do the same in the Premier League. Either Galatasaray or Fenerbahce will enter the new year as the winner of the Turkish Super Cup final.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Manchester City vs Sheffield United
The defending champions have a game in hand and will aim to keep the value of that game high by beating bottom-table Sheffield United. The result appears to be heading in one direction.

DECEMBER 31. 2023
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Fulham vs. Arsenal
A home defeat to West Ham has dropped Arsenal from the top of the table. They will need to bounce back with a win against Fulham in the next round. Fulham would suffer their fourth straight league defeat since winning consecutive ‘5-0’ games if this were to happen.

JANUARY 1. 2024
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Liverpool vs. Newcastle United
To guarantee their stay at the top of the table, Liverpool will have to beat Newcastle United if Arsenal comes up with a win against Fulham. Newcastle United will be facing a third straight league loss if this were to happen.

🇮🇹 Napoli vs. Monza
Monza’s season hasn’t been great, but it is what most would have expected. We can’t say the same for Napoli. Napoli has three defeats in their last four league games. Napoli’s title defense season isn’t going according to plan. They are coming off a ‘2-0’ defeat in Rome (against AS Roma) after getting knocked out from the Coppa Italia at home by Frosinone. Playing at home against Monza should be an opportunity for Napoli to get back to a win. Napoli were ‘4-0’ winners the last time this exact fixture was played, but it was Monza who won ‘2-0’ in their most recent meeting.

🇮🇹 Genoa vs. Inter Milan
Genoa has had its struggles but is unbeaten in two games coming into their fixture with an Inter Milan side that is looking to keep its lead intact at the top of the table. Inter Milan has a 4-point lead in the Serie A title race and will ideally want to extend it by grabbing a win against Genoa and hoping that Juventus will drop points against Roma. The last time this game was played, it ended in a goalless draw.

DECEMBER 30. 2023
🇮🇹 Juventus vs. Roma
Juventus is 12 points ahead of Roma and in a title race with Inter Milan as things stand. They will need a win at home against Roma to keep up the pace with Inter Milan. It was a ‘1-1’ draw the last time this exact fixture was played, but Roma won ‘1-0’ in their most recent league meeting.Dec 29.

🇵🇹
The three giants of Portuguese football lead the way in the title race, with a point interval between them. Braga and Vitoria de Guimaraes are doing their best to tag along.

Sporting CP guarantees the top spot with a win against Portimonense.
Benfica will look to follow a league win in Braga with one at home over Famalicao.
Porto has an opportunity to beat bottom-tabled Chaves to recover from their ‘2-0’ defeat to Sporting CP in their last league game.
