Crystal Palace’s best result at home after losing to Aston Villa in the previous round was a goalless draw with Fulham. It was a very even game, with Fulham being slightly more deserving of a win if they had won.

A 10-man Wolves side came out with a draw against Luton Town. Wolves were down to 10 men after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was sent off in the 40th minute. This did not prevent Wolves from scoring the game’s first goal.

Rodri was sent off early in the second half, but Manchester City scored twice in the first quarter of the opening hour of the match to remain unbeaten in the league with a ‘2-0’ win over Nottingham Forest. Phil Foden and Erling Haaland were the goalscorers.

Everton earned their first league victory. They picked up three points from a ‘3-1’ away victory over Brentford. This marked a consecutive league defeat for a Brentford side that had been without one.

Manchester United ended a three-game losing streak in all competitions with a ‘1-0’ away win over a Burnley team that remains winless. It was an unconvincing victory for Manchester United against a newly-promoted side without no wins to their name.

Tottenham earned a point at the Emirates Stadium thanks to two equalizing goals from Heung-Min Son. The North London derby ended in a 2-2 draw, keeping Arsenal and Tottenham unbeaten. The winner is obviously Manchester City. On the balance of play, it was a fitting result.

Kaoru Mitoma’s two second-half goals secured three points for Brighton, who came back from a goal down to defeat Bournemouth. The result leaves Bournemouth without a league win.

Chelsea lost a man in the 58th minute (Malo Gusto was sent off), then a goal in the 73rd minute when Ollie Watkins scored the game’s only goal to give Aston Villa a ‘1-0’ victory at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s only win in the league thus far has come at home against newly promoted Luton Town.

Liverpool got the goals in the second half to beat West Ham 3-1 after a ‘1-1’ draw in the first half. Liverpool have won their last six games in all competitions (5 league games) since kicking off their season with a ‘2-2’ draw against Chelsea.
Newcastle United picked up three points with an 8-0 win over Sheffield United. Eight different goal scorers were on the score sheet for Newcastle United, with Kieran Trippier providing an assist to three of the goals. Sheffield United is now at the bottom of the league table with a 12-goal deficit.
