Manchester United were in desperate need of a win after suffering two consecutive 3-0 defeats at home, against Manchester City in the derby and Newcastle United in the League Cup. Bruno Fernandes provided the much-needed salvation in the first minute of added time, scoring the winning goal against Fulham.

West Ham came back from a goal down to lead 2-1 at halftime, but Brentford scored two second-half goals to win 3-2. This was Brentford’s third consecutive league victory, after going six games without a win. West Ham have now lost three of their last four league matches.

Crystal Palace broke their three-game winless streak (a draw and two defeats) by defeating Burnley, who have now lost five consecutive games, four of which have been in the league.
Ashley Young’s own goal denied Everton a win against Brighton. The 1-1 draw was Brighton’s fifth straight league game without a win (2 losses, 3 draws).

Bournemouth followed up their first league win of the season (2-1 against Burnley) with a heavy defeat at the hands of City. Manchester City broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a goal from Jeremy Doku, who then went on to assist four more goals as City cruised to a 6-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Sheffield United seemed to be heading for another winless league game when Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equalized for Wolves in the 89th minute, canceling out Cameron Archer’s earlier goal. However, a late penalty (soft) allowed Oliver Norwood to score the game winner in the 10th minute of added time to give Sheffield United their first league win of the season through a 2-1 home win over Wolves.

Arsenal was beaten for the first time this season in the Premier League after Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute to decide the game for the home team.

Luton Town played well enough to earn a draw against Liverpool. Tahith Chong’s goal in the 80th minute appeared to be the game-winner for Luton Town, until Luiz Diaz headed in Liverpool’s equalizer in the fifth minute of added time. Both teams will feel as if they have lost two points.

Tottenham’s unbeaten run came to an end as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Chelsea, playing with only nine men. Tottenham found themselves down to 9 players from the 55th minute when Iyenoma Udogie received his second yellow card, joining Cristian Romeno, who had been booked in the 33rd minute. Nicolas Jackson scored a hat-trick in the match.
