Ligue 1 after 18 rounds sees PSG’s lead grow to eight.

 

Eight games produced winners. The game between Marseille and Strasboug was teh only game to end a draw.

Paris St. Germain’s lead at the top of the table grew by three points to eight after they defeated Lens in the final match of the round. Their closest contenders, Nice and Monaco, both dropped points in their respective matches. Monaco fell to fourth place, while Brest moved up to third after defeating Montpellier.

Coming off the bench in the 79th minute, Jeremy Sebas scored in the second minute of added time to rescue Strasbourg from a goal down and earn a point at Marseille.
Reims won in Monaco, denying Monaco the points to close in on the top of the league. The result marked back-to-back league wins for Reims on the back of a losing back-to-back league games.

Just like Monaco, Nice, one of the potential title contenders in the league as things stand, dropped points against Rennes by losing ‘2-0’.

Two late goals gave Lille the win to reflect their dominance. A dominant performance from Lille saw them beat Lorient ‘3-0’, marking 10 games without a win for Lorient, consisting of 9 league games that are made up of 7 defeats and an elimination from the Coupe de France.

Two second-half goals for Brest to beat Montpellier.

The second half started with Florent Mollet scoring an equalizing goal for Nantes in the 47th minute to cancel a first-half lead Clermont picked up in the 29th minute through a goal from Shamar Nicholson. Nantes went down a man in the 73rd minute when Benie Traore was shown a red card. Jim Allevinah scored the game-winning goal for Clermont against a 10-man Nantes in the 89th minute.

Lyon was down a man and a goal at halftime. Gatier Lloris scored the game’s opening goal for Le Havre in the 18th minute, and Jake O’Brien received a red card in the 30th minute, leaving Lyon playing with a numerical disadvantage for the remainder of the match. Alexandre Lacazette scored a goal for Lyon in the 54th minute, four minutes after Emmanuel Sabbi scored to double Le Havre’s lead. Sabbi’s goal would ultimately prove to be the game-winning goal in a 3-1 score. Lyon ended the game with nine men after Duje Caleta-Car received a red card in the 90th minute.

Lens had the opportunity to take the lead first but Przemyslaw Frankowski failed to convert a penalty in the 7th minute. It came back to haunt them as Paris St. Germain was up a goal on the half-hour mark from Bradley Barcola, and closed the game with a late goal in the 89th minute from Kylian Mbappe. Lens played the entirety of the second half with a numerical disadvantage after Jonathan Gradit picked up a red card at the end of the first half.
