Manchester City was not part of the round of games as they were away winning the Club World Cup title. With a game in hand, Manchester City dropped a position down to 5th, as Tottenham secured a win against Everton to claim fourth place.

There were no changes in positions among the top three teams as they all earned a point from draws. Aston Villa participated in a ‘1-1’ draw with Crystal Palace in the opening match of the round, while Arsenal and Liverpool shared points in their draw against each other.

Manchester United slipped a position to 8th after losing to West Ham.

The promoted clubs had a decent round but remain in the relegation zone: Sheffield United’s draw and wins for Luton Town and Burnley.

Danny Welbeck’s goal in the 82nd minute saved Brighton from defeat against Crystal Palace, as Crystal Palace followed a draw against Manchester City with another draw.

Seeking a home win against bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United, Aston Villa were fortunate to secure a point from a 1-1 draw. Nicolo Zaniolo’s goal in the seventh minute of added time salvaged a point for Aston Villa after Cameron Archer scored in the 87th minute, bringing Sheffield United to the verge of a third league win.

West Ham secured back-to-back league wins following a 5-0 loss to Fulham. Jarrod Bowen and Mohamed Kudus scored in the second half to give West Ham a victory over Manchester United. The 2-0 score also meant that Manchester United had gone four matches without scoring a goal.

Following two consecutive 5-0 victories, Fulham suffered consecutive league defeats: a 3-0 loss at Newcastle and a 2-0 loss at home to Burnley. The latter marked Burnley’s third win of the season and their first victory against a side that was not promoted to the league this season.

Andros Townsend scored the only goal, giving Luton Town three points against Newcastle United.

Dominic Solanke’s second-half hat-trick secured a win for Bournemouth against Nottingham Forest, with the winning goal coming in the fourth minute of added time. Despite being a man down after Willy Bolly received a second yellow card in the 23rd minute, Nottingham Forest scored first.

A two-goal lead in the opening 20 minutes secured Tottenham three points in a ‘2-1’ victory over Everton.

The result was a fair reflection of the game, as Arsenal maintained their position at the top of the league table with a draw at Anfield. Gabriel gave Arsenal the lead in the fourth minute, but Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool in the 29th minute.

Christopher Nkunku scored his first goal for Chelsea, but it only halved the deficit as Chelsea suffered a ‘2-1’ defeat away to Wolves.
