English Premier League

A round of shocks in the English Premier League. Liverpool and Manchester United soaked in more goals than anticipated.

After the 4th round of the 2020/21 season,
Everton stayed perfect and replaced Leicester City at the top of the table. Leicester dropped down to third after defeat against West Ham.
Aston Villa climbed to second after historic win against Liverpool.
Arsenal moves up a position to 4th after win against Sheffield United. 
Liverpool dropped to 5th.
Tottenham climbed from 8th to 6th after smashing Manchester United.
Chelsea moved two points up with a win against Crustal Palace.
Leeds United takes a draw at home and dropped a point in league position.
The Manchester teams are in the bottom half of the standings.
Burnley, Sheffield United and Fulham stayed without a win.

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace in the second-half of the match. Chelsea scored 4 goals with no forwards on the scoresheet. A 4-0 win against Crystal Palace ended Chlesea’s winless run in the league at 2 games. It also marked consecutive league defeats for Crystal Palace since their win at Old Trafford.

James Rodriguez scored 2 and assisted 1 as Everton remained perfected by picking up another victory. Everton made it 4 wins from their opening 4 games of the season by beating Brighton 4-2.

Manchester City failed to take their chances; and the cost was 2 points dropped at Elland Road. Leeds came from a goal down to take a point at home against Manchester City. They are unbeaten since the opening day defeat; and have kept Manchester City from three points in consecutive league matches.

Newcastle were ‘3-1’ winners against Burnley. Callum Wilson scored to restore Newcastle’s lead and another to give his team the insurance goal against Burnley. Ashley Westwood gave hope to the away side when he found an equalizing goal in the 61st-minute. Three straight defeats for Burnley.

West Ham beats Wolves, and now Leicester. Leicester City went from a 5-2 away victory against Manchester City to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of West Ham.

Newly-promoted West Brom are still chasing their first win of the season after a 2-0 defeat against Southampton. It’s back to back league victories for Southampton.

Arsenal got back on the winning track with a 2-1 win against a Sheffield United side that have lost all their league matches so far.

Just like Sheffield United, Fulham extended their streak of defeats in the league after a 1-0 defeat to Wolves. Wolves needed the victory to bounce back from their defeat to West Ham in the previous round. Luckily for Sheffield United and Fulham, they will face each other in the next round.

Sunday shockers!
6 goals were pumped into Manchester United’s net just before 7 goals got pumped into Liverpools net.

Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane scored a brace as Tottenham thrashed Manchester United at Old Trafford. Manchester United were 4-1 down before the break after taking an early lead in the 2nd-minute.

Liverpool suffer their first defeat of the 2020/21 Premier League season in style.
Ollie Watikins scored three goals as Aston Villa made it 3 wins out of 3 in the opening rounds of the season. Denying Liverpool from 4 wins out of 4. “
