The two teams directly above Cardiff in the league standings have a game in hand and can stretch the lead with some positive results.

Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle.

French Ligue 1 – Round 33
Champions League football is on the line for Lyon
Nantes puts a dent into Lyon’s hope of getting a direct qualification to the Champions League. A 2-1 defeat to Nantes meant Lyon hasn’t found a win since losing the Coupe de France final to Rennes.
Nantes has gone from three straight defeats in Ligue 1 to winning their last two matches. Lyon and Paris St. Germain was the opposition.

PSG has failed to win the league title in 3 attempts.
Can Paris St. Germain finally get the job done when they welcome Monaco on Sunday?
Should Lille win at Toulouse this weekend, Paris St. Germain will have no choice but to win their game against Monaco. A third defeat in a row will raise a lot of questions about Paris St. Germain’s strength and their progress in the world of football.
