UEFA Europa League Round Two

The twenty-four matches played in the second round of the UEFA Europa League gave  some big winners and losers.  Some teams who had a bad start to the competition made amends.

Stand out matches

Schalke 04 3-1 Salzburg

They might have 0% to the start of their domestic league, but Schalke 04 has a 100% start to their Europa League competition.

Sparta Prague 3-1 Inter Milan

Sparta Prague gave Inter Milan a second win in as many matches in the competition. Inter Milan was marked by the majority as one of the favorites in Group K. If this poor start is to continue for Inter, they might have to go through some more changes in the winter transfer window.

Krasnodar 5-2 Nice

Nice is doing the opposite of what Schalke is doing. Really great start to their domestic league, and a winless start to the Europa League.

Krasnodar wins their second match in as many matches.

Manchester United 1-0 Zorya

After losing their opening match against Feyenoord, Manchester United got their first win of the competition in front of the home fans.

Zenit St.Petersburg 5-0 AZ Alkmaar

Zenit had to come from three goals down in their opening match of the competition against Maccabi Tel Aviv to win the match at a 4-3 scoreline.

This time around they made no mistakes.  In front of their home crowd, Zenit put 5 goals past the defense od AZ Alkmaar.
