Luciano Dario Vietto missed a penalty that could have given Sevilla a bigger win, but Sevilla finished with their first three points nonetheless

 

Sevilla gets their first win in the UEFA Champions League after starting their tournament in a goalless draw against Juventus.

A great night for Juventus as they got their first win in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League competition away at Dinamo Zagreb.

Juventus new boys Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain gave the team a 2 goals lead before the halftime break. The win sends Juventus to the top of the table in Group H.

 

Copenhagen                       4-0            Club Brugge

Copenhagen scored four goals in the second half to get a home in over Club Brugge. It was the first win of the competition for FC Copenhagen, and a second loss for Club Brugge.  

It could have been five goals for the home team if Ludwig Augustinsson hadn’t miss his penalty in the 61st minute.

 

Leicester City                1-0           Porto

Islam Slimani 25’

 

Two win in two for Leicester City.

Islam Slimani scored the only goal in the match for the English champions to open their first ever UCL match at their home stadium with a win.

It is too early to call, but Leicester is looking to be in the knockout stage of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League.

 

Monaco                            1-1                Bayer Leverkusen

Javier Hernandez 73rd goal was looking to be the goal that gave Bayer Leverkusen their first win of the tournament until Kamil Glik robbed Leverkusen of their joy.

Kamil Glik scored in the last minute to give Monaco a point at home against Bayer Leverkusen. The point sends Monaco to the top of the table in Group E.

 

CSKA Moscow         0-1        Tottenham Hotspur

                                                    Heung-Min Son 71’

 

After losing their opening day match to Monaco, Tottenham went away and won their first match of the competition through a single goal. Heung-Min Son’s 71st goal gave Spurs a win that sends them to second place on Group E table.

 

Borussia Dortmund             2-2                      Real Madrid

Real Madrid gave up the lead on two occasions to finish their second match of the UCL with a point against Borussia Dortmund.

It was an entertaining draw between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. On the balance of play, the scoreline was fitting.

After failing to hold on to any points in their opening match against Real Madrid, Sporting CP scored two goals in the first half to get their first win of the competition at home against Legia Warsaw.
