Tottenham’s defeat came at a cost to their manager. Chelsea opens up a lead at the top of the standings.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Ten rounds played of the Premier League season.
The teams in the ‘top four’ remained after gathering the points to do so.
Liverpool and Manchester City failed to get the maximum point; with Manchester City losing at home to Crystal Palace while Liverpool blow a lead to drop points in a draw with Brighton.
Chelsea opened a three-point lead in the title race with their victory at Newcastle while West Ham United erased the three-point gap between them and the leading three in the title race.
Manchester United used a win against Tottenham to move into 5th; on point with Arsenal.
Wolves used a win against Everton to take 7th place while pushing Everton from 8th place to the middle of the table.
Leicester City fell into the bottom half after suffering a defeat against Arsenal.

Burnley was the relegation-zoned side to pick up a point; a win against Brentford.
Burnley’s win leaves Newcastle United and Norwich City as the only teams without a win after 10 rounds of the season.

LEICESTER CITY 0-2 ARSENAL
Arsenal moved three points clear of Leicester City
Arsenal is unbeaten since their 5- 0 thrashing against Manchester City; nine competitive matches including seven in the Premier League

BURNLEY 3- 1 BRENTFORD
Brentford suffered a third straight league defeat.

LIVERPOOL 2-2 BRIGHTON
It was the response Brighton wanted after their defeat to Man City.
Sadio Mane had a goal ruled oat by VAR in the 33rd minute. That goal would’ve prevented Liverpool from blowing a two-goal lead at home to Brighton.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-2 CRYSTAL PALACE
Manchester City lose at home to a Palace team with one win.
Conor Gallagher confirmed Crystal Palace’s win with his 88th minute goal.
City could not recover from a disastrous first half.
Manchester City went a goal down in the 6th minute, and a man down just before halftime. Aymeric Laporte was handed a red card two minutes into the first additional minutes.
A 10-man Manchester City did their best in the second half; an equalizing goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.

NEWCASTLE 0-3 CHELSEA
Reece James two goals after the hour mark laid the foundation for Chelsea to win the three points to hold their position as league leaders.

WATFORD 0-1 SOUTHAMPTON
Watford followed up a 5-2 victory against Everton with a defeat
Southampton doubled their wins and moved a point above Watford.

TOTTENHAM 0-3 MANCHESTER UNITED
Cristiano Ronaldo and his replacement Marcus Rainford were both on the score sheet with Edinson Cavani for Manchester United to bounce from their struggles in the last round with a convincing victory against a Tottenham side that does not look convincing.

NORWICH CITY 1-2 LEEDS UNITED
Leeds doubled the victory in the league to keep Norwich at the bottom
of the standings without a win

ASTON VILLA 1- 4 WEST HAM
After eliminating Manchester City in the F- FL Cup,
West Ham picked up a third successive victory in the league. It hasn’t been a good run for Aston Villa since their win at Old Trafford against Manchester United; lost in all competitions.


WOLVES 2-1 EVERTON
Everton made it four matches without a win and three successive defeats after failing to recover a 2-goal deficit in the first half. Wolves used this result to move a two points above Everton.
