Napoli vs. Real Madrid, RB Leipzig vs. Manchester City, and Porto vs.Barcelona, were the games that featured two teams that were looking to double their victories in their respective groups. The visiting teams won.

‘Union Berlin vs. Braga’, and ‘Antwerp vs. Shakhtar Donetsk’, were games that featured sides that were looking for their first point(s) of the tournament afte starting on a defeat. In both games, the visiting team won by coming from two goals down to win ‘3-2’

Only 4 of the 11 teams that won in the opening round were able to follow it with a win in the second round. The remaining 7 teams suffered defeat. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are the teams to follow a winning start with another win. Arsenal, Feyenoord, Napoli, Paris St. Germain, Porto, RB Leipzig, and Salzburg were all on the losing end.

From the 11 teams that were looking to recover from defeat, two recovered with a win, three recovered with a draw, and the remaining six were beaten again. Braga and Shakhtar Donetsk were the two teams that recovered from defeat in the first round with a win in the second. Antwerp, Benfica, Celtic, Manchester United, and Union Berlin were all beaten again. Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys bounced back with a draw.

Of the 10 teams that were looking to recover from points dropped in a draw, seven bounced backed with a win, two repeated their result, and one was beaten. Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Lens, Newcastle United and Real Sociedad picked up wins, AC Milan and Sevilla picked dropped two more points from drawings, and Copenhagen regressed by getting beaten.

Bayern Munich maintained a perfect winning record to lead Group A, while Manchester United did the opposite by picking up a second defeat. Galatasaray became the other team in the group to secure a win. The visiting teams prevailed as Bayern Munich staged a comeback to secure three points in Copenhagen, while Galatasaray emerged victorious with a 3-2 win against a 10-man Manchester United.

Lens tops Group B after two rounds, defeating Arsenal, while Sevilla remains unbeaten but without a win. PSV narrowly avoided losing both of their matches and currently sits at the bottom of the table. Lens came from behind to win 2-1, while PSV Eindhoven twice came from behind to avoid defeat at home against Sevilla.

Group C witnessed visiting teams winning 3-2, with Braga defeating Union Berlin and Real Madrid emerging victorious against Napoli. Real Madrid came from behind to maintain a perfect winning start with a victory in Naples, while Union Berlin is at the bottom of the table after losing both rounds.

A goal difference of one is keeping Real Sociedad ahead of Inter Milan in the Group D standings, while Benfica has no points and has yet to score a goal in the group. Inter Milan claimed a dominant 1-0 victory against Benfica, while Real Sociedad secured a 2-0 win against Salzburg.

Atletico Madrid and Lazio lead Group E, while Celtic sit bottom of the group with no points. Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord drew 2-2 at halftime, but Alvaro Morata scored his second goal of the game in the second half to give Atletico a 3-2 home win. Pedro Rodriguez scored the winning goal in the fifth minute of added time to complete Lazio’s comeback and give them a 2-1 away victory over Celtic.

Newcastle United moved tot eh top of Group F with their win over PSG, A Milan remains unbeaten without a win. Newcastle United thrashed Paris St. Germain 4-1, while Dortmund and AC Milan played out the only goalless draw of the round.

Manchester City keeps a perfect winning start with another ‘3-1’ win in Group G.
Manchester City won 3-1 against RB Leipzig in Leipzig, while Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys drew 2-2, with Red Star equalizing in the 88th minute to avoid defeat after Young Boys had come from behind to take the lead with two second-half goals.

Barcelona tops Group H with the maximum points and no goals conceded.
Arguably against the run of play but Barcelona got a win in Porto, thanks to Ferran Torres’s goal in the first half, while Shakhtar Donetsk came from two goals down in the first half to win 3-2 away against Antwerp.
