DUTCH EREDIVISIE – Round 8

There were positional changes at the end of the 8th round but PSV Eindhoven, Ajax, AZ Alkmaar, and Feyenoord remain the occupants of the top four positions

All four teams played against a club that is out of the top 10 positions in the league standings but it AZ Alkmaar was the only side to win.

The result moved AZ Alkmaar from third to the top of the league.
PSV Eindhoven dropped from the top of the table to third after a 3-0 defeat against Cambuur.
Ajax kept second place with a point at home from a 1-1 draw with Go Ahead Eagles.
Feyenoord kept fourth place with a point away from a 1-1 draw with NEC Nijmegen.

Portuguese PRIMEIRA LIGA – Round 8

Benfica and Braga were the two unbeaten teams left in the Portuguese Primeira Liga after 7 rounds of the season. The 8th round ended with Braga suffering their first league defeat of the season in a 4-1 loss against FC Porto, and Benfica’s 100% winning start ended in a goalless draw with Vitoria de Guimaraes.

Benfica’s lead at the top is increased by a point (3), while Porto got even on points with Braga (19).
