Spain 3- 0 Turkey

As ‘Group D’ favorites, Spain was expected to advance from the group, and they haven’t disappointed.

Spain is moving on from Group D to the Round of 16. Their title defense seems to be getting stronger after their display against Turkey in their second Group D match. Two wins in as many matches.

Spain was coming into this match with a win to their name, while Turkey was still searching for their first goal and point.

Turkey started off the match, trying their best to stop Spain from playing their way. It took 3 minutes of the first half for Spain take a lead and double it.

Alvaro Morata put Spain up 1-0 in the 34th minutes, and 3 minutes later Nolito added another goal to the lead.

It was all Spain from that point onwards. The team got relaxed, and their showmanship began.

It took 3 minutes after the restart for Morata to get a brace. He could have had a hat-trick if he had been more clinical.

As always, Andres Iniesta was the heart of the team offensive creativity.

It was a comfortable match for Spain, as David De Gea was not really tested in goal. The only hope for Spanish fans will be that the team does not get too comfortable after this win.

Turkey will need to step it up a bit when they go against the Czech Republic in their final Group D match.

Spain will be taking on Croatia.
