Liverpool (England) vs Porto (Portugal)
To beat Liverpool in Anfield by 5+ goals on any given day is improbable. And the fact that no team has overturned a ‘5-0’ first leg defeat in the Champions League made it easy to call the winner between the two sides before the whistle was blown for kick-off. The job done in Portugal was good enough to send Liverpool to the quarterfinals after a goalless draw in the second-leg.

Paris Saint-Germain (France) vs Real Madrid (Spain)

Once again, PSG has fallen in the quarter-finals to a Spanish opposition. After a dominant showing in the group stage, Paris Saint-Germain failed to register a victory in the knockout stage, making it 3 consecutive UCL games without a victory. Cristiano Ronaldo led Real Madrid to another victory in their title defense.

Two Champions League matches in England and both home teams were on the losing end of a ‘2-1’ score.

Tottenham Hotspur (England) vs Juventus (Italy)

Spurs get knocked out at Wembley.
Two quick second-half goals within 3 minutes brought Juventus from a goal down to secure an away victory over Tottenham Hotspur for a place in the quarterfinals. FC Basel ended a 36-game unbeaten run at the Etihad Stadium in all competitions

Manchester City (England) vs Basel (Switzerland)
A Manchester City defeat at home didn’t impact their future in the league. Basel gets eliminated with some pride after coming to the Etihad and handing Manchester City a rare defeat.
