Barcelona and Real Madrid picked up a narrow 1-0 win from their games this weekend to remain in the lead of the title race, unbeaten.
Athletic Club fell further away from the title race after dropping two points in a 1-1 draw with Sevilla.
Atletico Madrid moved into the ‘top 4’ when their 2-1 win against Girona was matched with a goalless draw between Real Betis and Valladolid.
Real Betis fall to 5th and is now on equal points with Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad.
Elche picked up their second league point but remain at the bottom of the league table as the only team without a league win.
Almeria moved out of the relegation zone through a 3-1 win against Rayo Vallecano.
Sevilla dropped into the bottom three spots with Cadiz and Elche.
