ATHLETIC CLUB 1-0 ALAVES
Raul Garcia made up for his 9th-minute penalty miss with a headed goal in the 44th minute to send Athletic Club into the halftime break with a lead that lasted till the final whistle. In their first game after their first win (and points), Alaves made a return to their losing ways.

OSASUNA 1-0 RAYO VALLECANO
Manuel Sanchez scored in the first minute of the additional time to give Osasuna the maximum points to move a point above Rayo Vallecano in the standings.

MALLORCA 1-0 LEVANTE
Jose Luis Morales failed to convert a penalty in the 85th minute to get Levante a point at Mallorca. Levente remained without a win after eight matches played.

CADIZ 0-0 VALENCIA
Cadiz took a point at home against Valencia.

ATLETICO MADRID 2-0 BARCELONA
Thomas Lemar and Luis Suarez provided the goals to get Atletico Madrid a win at home against Barcelona. Atletico Madrid made up for their shock defeat against Alaves while Barcelona fell down after having a 3-0 win against Levante. A 3-0 defeat against Benfica in the Champions League means Barcelona suffered an 8-0 defeat in a week from the two matches played.

ELCHE 1-0 CELTA VIGO
Elche used a narrow 1-0 win to open a 2 point gap between themselves and Celta Vigo.

ESPANYOL 2-1 REAL MADRID
Karim Benzema was on the score sheet but Real Madrid was not on the winning end of the score. Real Madrid lost their unbeaten start to the season after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat against Espanyol.

GETAFE 1-1 REAL SOCIEDAD
Getafe picked up their first point of the season in a draw at home with Real Sociedad. The result denied Real Sociedad the points that would’ve allowed them to take the top spot in the standings.

VILLARREAL 2-0 REAL BETIS
Arnaut Danjuma’s goal gave Villarreal a 2-0 win to move a point behind Real Betis in the standings.

GRANADA 1-0 SEVILLA
Granada picked up their first win of the season after Ruben Rochina’s goal in the 25th minute held up to get them the three points against a Sevilla side that had been unbeaten in the league.
