TOP 7 LEAGUES AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER

On our PERFORMANCE INDEX RATING for the clubs in Europe’s top seven leagues as of September 30, 2024:

🇩🇪 Bayern Munich ends the month on top of the ranking.
🇫🇷 Paris Saint-Germain (3rd) is the best-ranked of the defending champions.
🇮🇹 Inter Milan (26th) is the rest ranked of the defending champions.
🇵🇹 Santa Clara (56th) is the best performing of the recently-promoted clubs.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Southampton (129th) is the worst performing of the recently-promoted clubs.
🇵🇹 Farense (132nd) is the worst ranked

No defending champions feature in the top two, with Paris Saint-Germain being the highest-ranked reigning champion in 3rd place, followed by Real Madrid in 4th. Sporting CP ranks 5th, Bayer Leverkusen 6th, PSV Eindhoven 9th, Manchester City sits outside the top 10 in 12th, and Inter Milan is out of the top 20, in 26th.

Bayern Munich leads our latest Index Ranking, with Barcelona close behind.
Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona lost their league titles last season but are now on track to reclaim them. Both clubs maintained 100% winning records in their respective leagues this season until dropping points over the weekend. Barcelona suffered an away defeat against Osasuna in La Liga, while Bayern Munich drew at home against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Monaco, Liverpool, and Villarreal round out the top 10. Liverpool leads the English Premier League title race, Monaco is in a two-way tie on points with Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 title race, and Villarreal is the closest competitor to Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.

Santa Clara, ranked 56th, is the highest-ranked of the recently promoted clubs. Como follows in 58th place, with Parma in 66th.
There is less than 0.30 points separating the three teams at the bottom of the ranking, with Farense (132nd) pinned at the very end.
