The Old Firm and the Catalan derby are part of this WEEKEND BANGERS.

March 29, 2019
Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen (German Bundesliga)
Leverkusen must win to keep their 6th position in the league. They also need to make up for the points dropped at home against Werder Bremen in the last round. For Hoffenheim, a win here will be seen as progress to get closer to a Europa League qualification. Hoffenheim were 4-1 winners in the reversed fixture so it is really up to Leverkusen to make a statement that can also help their bid for Champions League football in the coming season.

Girona vs Athletic Club (Spanish La Liga)
Athletic Club enjoys a 3 point lead over Girona. The teams are on a relatively decent form in their bid to get as far away from the relegation threat as they can get.

March 30, 2019
Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg (German Bundesliga)
Before the all-important Der Klassiker, Dortmund must do whatever to avoid falling behind in points.

Freiburg vs Bayern Munich (German Bundesliga)
Before the all-important Der Klassiker, Bayern Munich must do whatever to avoid falling behind in points.

Braga vs Porto (Primeira Liga)
Porto has a league title to defend and Benfica is currently ruining it.
Braga winning at home will cup the point gap between themselves and Porto down to 2, and in order for Porto to keep a neck to neck title race with Benfica, there wouldn’t be room to drop any points in this match if Benfica does the expected against Tondela.

Celta Vigo vs Villarreal (Spanish La Liga)
Villarreal’s 4-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone will be on the line when they travel to face a relegation-zoned Celta Vigo side that is desperate for survival points.
Celta Vigo has picked up just a point from their last 6 league matches, while Villarreal could make it 3 straight wins in the league with the right results from this fixture.
Villarreal had to come from 3 goals down to finish the match with a respectable 3-2 defeat at home in the reverse fixture. What will come from this fixture?

Barcelona vs Espanyol (Spanish La Liga) Catalan derby
Espanyol visits Camp Nou.
Barcelona will be hoping to keep and possibly widen the lead at the top with a victory over their neighbors. Espanyol could use a positive result to help build their security to remain in La Liga.

Alaves vs Atletico Madrid (Spanish La Liga)
Alaves is a win away from potentially being back in the ‘Top 4’.
Atletico Madrid is a defeat away from potentially losing the second-place position in the league to their city rival Real Madrid.
The positive for Alaves is they have been unbeaten in their last 6 matches in the league while Atletico Madrid has to bounce back from defeat to Athletic Club in the last round.

March 31, 2019
Celtic vs Rangers (Scottish Premier League) Old Firm
An away victory for Rangers with cut Celtic’s lead in the league to 7 points.
Can Rangers do a double against Celtic after the ‘1-0’ win at Ibrox on December 29, 2019? Is
Celtic going to resume their recent dominance in the Old Firm derby?

Roma vs Napoli (Italian Serie A)
Virtually, there isn’t a title race in Serie A.
Napoli should feel confident about their position in the league. Roma could fall behind their city rival (Lazio) if they are beaten at home by 2nd place Napoli. A victory for Roma in addition to an AC Milan defeat would have Roma a point away from top four.

Sevilla vs Valencia (Spanish La Liga)
Sevilla is at risk of falling out of the top 6.
While Valencia’s season has been a steady improvement, Sevilla can be blamed for doing the opposite. The three points that are currently separating the two sides in the league will be wiped out should Valencia pick up a win at Sevilla.

Ajax vs PSV Eindhoven (Dutch Eredivisie) De Topper
PSV has been doing a fine job in defending the league title, but Ajax at home could close in on PSV.
A win here for Ajaz will cut PSV’s lead at the top of the Eredivisie to just 2 points with 7 matches to go. Ajax has been the second best team for most of the season and a win here would make the final laps quite interesting.

Liverpool vs Tottenham (English Premier League)
There isn’t enough room for either side to drop points.
Liverpool and Tottenham are currently chasing different goals, but the objective is the same. A win and maximum points are the only thing that will make each side content.

Inter Milan vs Lazio (Italian Serie A)
While their city rival Roma welcomes 2nd place Napoli, Lazio will travel to Milan to face off with 3rd place Inter Milan.
With a game in hand, Lazio is mathematically in a healthy position to secure champions league football and maybe erase the disappointing end to last season’s Champions League qualification bid.
