Getafe was reduced to 10 men when Juanmi Latasa picked up a second yellow card in the 40th minute. They then went down a goal about six minutes later, entering halftime a goal down and a man down against Rayo Vallecano. It only took two minutes into the second half for them to concede another goal, and eight minutes later, they were down to nine men as Mason Greenwood also received a red card. The ‘2-0’ score marked Rayo Vallecano’s first league win in nine attempts and the first league defeat for Getafe in their last four matches.

Real Sociedad avoided a home defeat against Alaves thanks to an equalizer in the sixth minute of stoppage time. The result was Real Sociedad’s third consecutive league draw, while Alaves ended a run of three consecutive league defeats with the draw.

Villarreal improved on their performance in the second half, but Valencia had done the bulk of the damage in the opening half with their two-goal lead. Valencia won 3-1 against Villarreal, with two goals coming from Pepelu’s penalties.
Granada emerged victorious in the relegation zone battle against Cadiz. Granada found a goal in each half to beat Cadiz ‘2-0’.
Substitute Williot Swederberg scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of added time in the second half, giving Celta Vigo a 2-1 victory over Real Betis. Real Betis now has a five-game winless streak, with two losses.

Antonio Rudiger’s header from a corner kick was the only goal of the game, allowing Real Madrid to secure maximum points with a narrow ‘1-0’ win over Mallorca.
Despite Alvaro Morata’s hat trick, Atletico Madrid could not avoid a loss to Girona, who are having a remarkable season. Girona took an early lead in the second minute and went on to secure a 4-3 victory over Atletico Madrid, keeping them level on points with the league leaders.

A ‘1-0’ defeat to Osasuna meant Almeria has reached the halfway point of the season without recording a league win. They’ve lost 14 of the 19 games played.
A win in Seville against Sevilla meant Athletic Club has gone 9 league games without defeat since losing to Barcelona, winning 6. For Sevilla, their struggling season continues. Their only win from their last five league games is now sandwiched by two defeats.

Barcelona managed to leave Las Palmas with a win, thanks to a late goal from Ilkay Gundogan through a penalty kick in the third minute of the final added time.
