English Premier League

The Lone Survivor – Leicester City

Posted on

Success is relative, so it is ok to say that  Leicester City had a successful run in the 2014/15 season.

Out of the 3 new members that joined the Premier league in the 2014/15 season, Leicester City was the only team that earned the right to enjoy another season in the top flight.

Joining the Premier League alongside Burnley and Queens Park Rangers, Leicester City managed to avoid the ‘relegation zone’ by 6 points, finishing 14th on the final edition of the Premier League table. As expected for a team in the bottom half of the league, they racked up more loses than wins.  A negative goal difference of 9, 11 wins, 8 draws, 19 losses was how they performed on their return to the Premier League after being away for 10 years.

Next season is another opportunity for Leicester City to improve on their performance. We don’t know what is going on behind close doors, but we can assume that the primary goal is to remain a Premier league team for a long time to come.
