Manchester United won 2-0 in both legs of the quarterfinals to advance at the expense of Granada.

Roma used a 1-1 draw at home, with the 2-1 first leg victory to advance ahead of Ajax.

After allowing a late goal to deny them a win at home in the first-leg, Arsenal didn’t waste time in the second leg against Slavia Prague. It was 3-0 at the break and 4-0 win for Arsenal when the final whistle was blown.

A 2-1 win at home and the 2-0 win from the first leg got Villarreal their place in the semifinals at the expense of Dinamo Zagreb.

From the semifinalist, Manchester United is the only team to have won the competition in their past. Manchester United were the 2017 winners.

Arsenal are the side to have most recently played in the final. It was 2019, and it ended in a defeat. It was their second time in the final; they lost on the other occasion as well (2000).

Roma lost the final in 1991, and Villarreal have never been to a final to win one (or lose).
