Italian Serie A

The Italian Serie A after two rounds – Lazio is struggling unexpectedly.

 

Four teams with a perfect winning record after two rounds: AC Milan, Napoli, Inter Milan, and Hellas Verona.
Juventus, Atalanta, Fiorentina, and Lecce failed to grab another win after a starting their season with three points.
Lazio, Empoli, and Sassuolo are the teams without a point after another defeat .
It’s still early but the pre-season favorites are showing their faces.
From the newly-promoted clubs, Frosinone and Genoa were winners, but Cagliari suffered a defeat.

Newly-promoted Frosinone bounced back from opening round home defeat to Napoli with a ‘2-1’ home win against Atalanta. Two goals in the the opening half hour was enough to get the job done.

Monza picked up three points with goals from Andrea Colpani giving them a ‘2-0’ victory against Empoli.

Hellas Verona took an early lead in the 4th minute, and went into the half time break with a 2-0 lead. Their lead was halved in the second half, but it didn’t stop them from making it two wins out of two with a ‘2-1’ win over a Roma side that is now without a win in their opening two leafgue matches.

Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for the game and for AC Milan, but it was Olivieri Giroud’s goal from his first penalty kick of the game that handed AC Milan a home win over Torino. It finished a ‘4-1’ win for AC Milan.

Lecce found the two goals in the second half to cancel Fiorentina’s 2-0 lead in the first half. The points are shared for both teams to remain unbeaten after two rounds.

Dusan Vlahovic’s goal saved Juventus from losing their first home game of the season. It ended a ‘1-1’ draw with a Bologna side that was coming from a ‘2-0’ defeat to AC Milan.

Lazio lose two in a row, while Girona win their first. Meteo Retegui’s header in the 16th minute was the only goal of the match.

Victor Osimhen was on the scoresheet again as Napoli picked up another win in their chase to defend the league title. Napoli beat Sassuolo ‘2-0’.

Udinese picked up their first point, while Salernitana starts their season with two draws. It finished ‘1-1’ between the two sides.

A back-to-back ‘2-0’ win for Inter Milan’s start to the season, as they followed a ‘2-0’ home win over Monza with a ‘2-0’ away win over Cagliari. Once again, Lautaro Martinez was on teh scoresheet for Inter Milan.
