The most successful club in Serie A was triumphant against the reigning champion. Napoli had opportunities in the opening half but failed to convert them. They suffered their third defeat in their four most recent league games. The latest result is a 1-0 loss in Turin to a Juventus side appearing strong in the league title race. For the second game in a row, Federico Gatti scored the winning goal for Juventus. Gatti’s goal in the final added minutes secured Juventus their victory against Monza in the last round. Gatti’s goal in the 51st minute settled the game for Juventus against Napoli.

The points were shared between relegation-threatened Hellas Verona and Lazio. Hellas Verona has now gone 13 league games without a win, but this draw marked a streak of three draws at the end of five straight league defeats.

AC Milan was on the verge of reaching the 30-point mark, but they were defeated by Atalanta this weekend. Ademola Lookman scored two goals to give Atalanta the lead, but AC Milan equalized on both occasions with goals from Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Luis Muriel scored the game-winning goal for Atalanta. Muriel had entered the game in the 82nd minute, replacing Lookman. This is Atalanta’s first league win in five games.

Lautaro Martinez added to his goal tally in the Golden Boot race with a second-half goal, but the game’s narrative was established in the first half. Inter Milan scored three goals towards the end of the half, with Hakan Calhanoglu opening the scoring in the 37th minute through a penalty. Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram each added a goal before the halftime break. Inter secured three points to maintain their position at the top of the table with a ‘4-0’ home win over Udinese.

Genoa’s winless streak in the league was extended to three games (two defeats) after a loss to Monza. Dany Mota’s goal gave Monza their first win in four games, a result that helped them bounce back from their late defeat against Juventus in the previous round.

Joshua Zirkzee scored two goals in the first 20 minutes of the game to secure a 2-1 win for Bologna against Salernitana . It’s back-to-back defeats for Salernitana since they won their first league game of the season against Lazio.

Roma dropped two points and had two players pick up red cards in a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. Romelu Lukaku was one of the players who got sent off with a red card, but his goal in the 5th minute put Roma in the lead for over an hour until Lucas Quarta scored the equalizing goal for Fiorentina. Roma keeps a one-point lead in the league standings.

Cagliari avoided a home defeat to Sassuolo. Goals in the final added minutes turned the tide for Cagliari, who came from a goal down to win 2-1.
