GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

 

It is a must-win for both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to ensure they keep their place in the standings. There are just 2 points between the two sides.

Union Berlin, RB Leipzig, and Freiburg are the teams that are currently in contention for the other two spots for Champions League qualifying positions in the standings.

Bayern Munich is on the brink of a UEFA Champions League exit after a 3-0 first-leg defeat against Manchester City. They are out of the DFB-Pokal. The Bundesliga title is a need for their season.

Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham are in the race for a ‘top 4’ finish with Arsenal and Manchester City.
Arsenal needs a victory to tighten their grip on their position in the first place.
Manchester City needs the victory to put pressure on Arsenal’s title ambitions.
There is also Liverpool and Chelsea performing well below their pre-season expectations, and then the like of Aston Villa and Brighton exceeding what many would’ve expected from them.

ITALIAN SERIE A

 

Lazio is 16 points behind Napoli in the title race but 5 points clear of everyone else.
There is a point between Roma, AC Milan, and Inter Milan in their contest for a ‘top four’ finish.
Atalanta is three points from the three teams that are looking for Champions League football.
Despite point deductions, Juventus is 4 points out of the ‘top 6’.

In the last round, the Milan teams (AC Milan and Inter Milan) dropped points, while the Roman teams (Lazio and Roma) picked up the maximum points.
But the Milan clubs will enter this round inspired by their midweek success in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Both clubs won their first-leg tie.

FRENCH LIGUE 1

 

The top two teams in the league will face each other: Paris St. Germain and Lens.

Marseille and Monaco will be hoping that points are dropped in the ‘Paris St. German vs Lens’ fixture to allow them to use a win from their respective matches to get involved in the title race or the race for direct qualification to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Paris St. Germain and Lens are coming from a win in the last round, while Marseille and Monaco dropped points from a draw.

SPANISH LA LIGA

 

In the last round, Barcelona dropped two points at home to Girona but it did little damage to their lead as Real Madrid had dropped 3 points at home against Villarreal.

Barcelona is clear in the lead with a comfortable 13-point gap.
As things stand, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are chasing second place. Real Sociedad, Villarreal, and Real Betis are chasing the final slot for the Champions League qualification.

Braga is racing with Porto for the second-place position in the league standings. Braga is only two points behind.
