We can’t count on Dortmund to give Bayern Munich a good run. Despite an early lead, Dortmund ended up dropping two points in Cologne.
With 7 more rounds left of the Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich’s lead grew to 6 points after their victory against Union Berlin was matched with a Dortmund ‘1-1’ draw in Cologne.
A thrashing from Mainz dropped Arminia Bielefeld into the relegation zone with Greuther Furth.
Bayern Munich ended a run of back-to-back draws in the league by thrashing Union Berlin 4-0.
Robert Lewandowski’s goals doubled Bayern Munich’s lead. Lewandowski scored from a penalty at the end of the first half, and a tap-in at the start of the second half to add to goals from Kingsley Coman’s strike and Tanguy Nianzou’s header.
Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Freiburg, and Hoffenheim are chasing the final two spots for direct qualification to next season’s Champions League. Leverkusen pulled three points away after this round.

After 9 games (7 defeats) in the league and another in the cup (defeat) later, Hertha Berlin has finally won their first match of the year. Hertha Belin were 3-0 winners at home against a Hoffenheim team that was unbeaten in their last five league matches; only dropping points in a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the last round.
An early goal in the first minute of the match plus three penalties converted in the second half got Mainz the four goals to beat Arminia Bielefeld.
Augsburg took a 2-1 lead to the break but Stuttgart won the second half by two goals to send Augsburg away with a 3-2 defeat. The points are even in the league standings but Augsburg has an opportunity with the game they have in hand.
