You’d think PSG would’ve learned their lesson by now.
After getting three points against Bordeaux in a tense atmosphere with their home supporters, Paris St. Germain went to Monaco and made a deposit to Monaco’s dreams.

Paris St. Germain’s lead in the French Ligue 1 title race dropped to 12 points following their defeat at Monaco and Marseille’s 2-1 win against Nice.
Wissam Ben Yedder took his goal tally in the league to 17 goals after scoring two goals to help guide Monaco to a 3-0 win against Paris St. Germain.

Monaco moved up a position to 7th, while Marseille kept second place by kicking Nice down a position to fourth.
Cedric Bakambu’s goal in the 89th minute came in handy for Marseille when Mario Lemina scored in the second minute of the final stoppage time to cut Marseille’s lead in half.

Marseille, Nice, Rennes, and Strasbourg are still gunning for the direct qualification spot to the Champions League; advantage Marseille at the moment.

Rennes got the victory to take advantage of the result from ‘Marseille vs Nice” but Strasbourg was held back through a goalless draw at Lorient. Lens came from an early goal down to go into the halftime break with a 2-1 lead. Massadioa Haidara scored the second half’s only goal to make it a 3-1 win for Lens against Clermont Foot.

In the end, a 10-man Lille left Nantes with 3 points from the lead Amadou Onana gave them in the 41st minute. Timothy Weah picked up a red card in the 64th minute to leave Lille to defend their lead with 10 men.

Angers got a narrow 1-0 win over Brest. Sofiane Boufal’s goal from the spot ended up being the only goal of the match; putting an end to a streak of seven defeats for Angers.



It remains tight at the bottom end of the league standings.
Bordeaux and Metz have their work cut out for them in order to secure safety.

Bordeaux is kept at the bottom of the table after going two goals down in the opening 20 minutes.

Sehrou Guirassy scored a hattrick as Rennes beat Metz 6-1 to help console themselves from the pain of narrowly missing out on the quarterfinal of the Conference League. The result makes it five league wins in a row for Rennes since their defeat in Paris.
