GERMAN BUNDESLIGA – Round 28.

The occupants of the top 6 positions in the league standings remained as it was at the end of the last round.

Bayern Munich broke a league rule in their victory by having an extra player on the pitch. We don’t know if they will get penalized for that error but as things stand, Bayern Munich’s lead grew by three points at the end of the round.
RB Leipzig moved 9 points from second after trashing Dortmund.
Augsburg moved further away from the relegation threat by pulling Wolfsburg closer.

MATCH RESULTS
Union Berlin 1-0 FC Koln
Arminia Bielefeld 1-1 Stuttgart
Leverkusen 2-1 Hertha Berlin
Frankfurt 0-0 Greuther Furth
Freiburg 1-4 Bayern Munich
Hoffenheim 1-2 Bochum
Dortmund 1-4 RB Leipzig
Augsburg 3-0 Wolfsburg
Monchengladbach 1-1 Mainz

Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal in the 49th minute got Union Berlin a win to move a point above FC Koln.

Back-to-back wins for Leverkusen as Hertha Berlin quickly returned to their losing ways after beating Hoffenheim in the last round to end a streak of 10 competitive matches without a win.

Hoffenheim followed defeat against Hertha Berlin with another against Bochum
Takuma Asano had to score another to restore the lead he had given Bochum.

Knowing that Freiburg and Hoffenheim were both in a position to take advantage of their slip, RB Leipzig did not allow that slip.
Two goals in each half allow RB Leipzig to the points to hold their place in the ‘top four’ and deny Dortmund from making it a competitive title race in the final laps.
