Despite Bayern Munich holding a game in hand, a defeat over the weekend saw them relinquish their advantage. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen gained the upper hand in the Bundesliga title race after securing three points in Leipzig, opening up a seven-point gap.

Augsburg climbed two positions to 10th place, while Monchengladbach dropped two spots to 12th place as a result of Augsburg’s 2-1 victory over Monchengladbach. This was the only change in positions following matchday 18.

Stuttgart suffered a back-to-back defeat, losing 1-0 to Bochum following a 3-1 loss against Monchengladbach.

Darmstadt came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Frankfurt, with the equalizing goal in the 5th minute of the final added time.

Dortmund dominated FC Koln with a 4-0 win, featuring Donyell Malen’s brace and Youssoufa Moukoko adding a goal. Youssoufa Moukoko came off the bench to score a goal, just as he did in the previous match against Darmstadt, with both of his goals coming in the 90+2nd minute.

Freiburg squandered a 2-goal advantage before falling behind numerically when Manuel Gulde received his second yellow card of the game in the 82nd minute. However,
Freiburg managed to secure a winning goal three minutes later to restore their lead and emerge victorious with a 3-2 win over Hoffenheim. Roland Sallai scored the game winner.
Leverkusen’s unbeaten start was in jeopardy, and dropping points looked likely, until Piro Hincapie scored in the first minute of the final added minutes to give Leverkusen a 3-2 victory in Leipzig.

Bayern Munich was unexpectedly defeated by Werder Bremen. Many would not have predicted this outcome, especially since Bayern Munich was playing at home. However, Mitchell Weiser scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute to give the visiting team all three points.

Augsburg overcame a 1-goal first-half deficit against Monchengladbach, securing a 2-1 victory with two goals in the second half.
