The city of Manchester had a successful round in the FA Cup. Barcelona enjoyed a positive evening in Madrid.
Almeria ended their streak with a victory.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce secured wins to keep pace with each other.
Sporting CP continued to fend off pressure from Benfica.


The league leaders triumphed in their respective matches, Inter Milan was the exception after dropping points in a draw. However, Inter Milan remains firmly in the lead in the Serie A title race.

Aston Villa and Tottenham failed to secure victories while the top three clubs were absent from the weekend’s action due to FA Cup fixtures. Aston Villa dropped two points in a draw with West Ham, while Tottenham suffered a convincing defeat at the hands of Fulham.

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City will resume league action after the international break to continue the three-way title race. There were no changes in the league standings. Burnley gained three points in the relegation zone, while also dragging Brentford deeper into the relegation battle. Relegation-threatened Luton Town and Nottingham Forest shared a point each in a 1-all draw.

Real Madrid maintained their top position in the league. The gap in the title race is now eight points, with the competition primarily between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Getafe’s victory over Girona propelled them two spots up to tenth, while Villarreal’s win against Valencia also saw them rise to ninth place.

Paris St. Germain extended their lead in the Ligue 1 title race by two points, now holding a 12-point lead after defeating Montpellier in the final match of the round.
Both Brest and Monaco dropped points in draws, with Brest’s 1-1 draw against Lille meaning that the three closest rivals to Paris St. Germain in the title race earned just a single point each. Nice moved up to fifth position, displacing Lens to sixth.
Rennes leveled with Marseille in points after beating them 2-0.

The draw for the UEFA continental cup competitions – the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League to determine the matchups for the remainder of the competitions leading up to the finals. The Europa League final is scheduled on May 22, 2024 in Ireland, the Conference League final scheduled for May 29, 2024 in Greece, and the Champions League final will take place on June 1, 2024, in England.

Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will face each other for the entry into the semifinal; seems like a fair draw for both clubs.

The winner between Arsenal and Bayern Munich will face the winner from the Real Madrid and Manchester City tie. The winner from the Paris St. Germain and Barcelona tie will meet one of Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Atalanta will have to go through Liverpool if we are to have multiple Italian clubs in the semifinals.

The winner between AC Milan and Roma will face the victor between Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham United.
Similarly, the winner between Liverpool and Atalanta will take on the winner from the tie between Benfica and Marseille.

In the midtable battle in Ligue 1, Toulouse came from a goal down to take a 2-1 lead in the second half. However, Jake O’Brien scored a headed goal in the 81st minute to restore Lyon’s lead and seal a 3-2 road win.

⚽ REAL SOCIEDAD 2-0 CÁDIZ:
Cadiz followed up a 2-0 league win against Atletico Madrid with a defeat by the same scoreline when they faced Real Sociedad away.

⚽ EMPOLI 0-1 BOLOGNA:
A goal from Giovanni Fabbian in the fourth minute of added time (90+4’) secured Bologna a deserved away victory against an Empoli side battling against relegation in Serie A.

🇩🇪 bundesliga
⚽ FC KOLN 1-5 RB LEIPZIG:
It all fell apart for FC Koln after the hour mark. They quickly came from a goal down to hold a 1-1 draw until Lois Openda scored a quick brace in the 63rd and 67th minutes, opening the floodgates for RB Leipzig. The match, which was a 1-1 draw at halftime, ended with Leipzig securing a 5-1 Bundesliga win in Cologne.

The top two La Liga teams played away matches, with Real Madrid getting a win against Osasuna, while Girona suffered defeat to Getafe.

⚽ OSASUNA 2-4 REAL MADRID
It ended ‘2-1’ in both halves. Vinicius Junior scored in each half. Real Madrid picked up an away win against Osasuna.

⚽ GETAFE 1-0 GIRONA
Girona loses grip. Jesus Santiago scored the game’s only goal for Getafe to season their first league win in five games.

⚽ MALLORCA 1-0 GRANADA
Antonio Raillo got the game’s only goal in the 85th minute to give Mallorca a win against Granada.

⚽ FULHAM 3-0 TOTTENHAM
Tottenham followed consecutive league wins: ‘3-1’ at home against Crystal Palace and a ‘4-0’ win against Aston Villa with a ‘3-0’ defeat to Fulham. Rodrigo Muniz scored two goals in Fulham’s win.

⚽ BURNLEY 2-1 BRENTFORD
Burnley picked up three points from a ‘2-1’ win against 10-man Brentford, with Brentford being reduced to 10 men after Sergio Reguilon picked up a red card in the 9th minute, giving Burnley a penalty to score the first goal of the match in the 10th minute. It’s a first league win for Burnley in 11 matches, while Brentford goes six league games without a win.

A comfortable win for Stuttgart at Hoffenheim.

⚽ DARMSTADT 2-5 BAYERN MUNICH
Bayern Munich went down a goal but overcame it to do the expected and pick up a 5-2 win against bottom-tabled Darmstadt in the Bundesliga. Jamal Musiala was on the scoresheet twice for Bayern.

⚽ MAINZ 2-0 BOCHUM
Jonathan Burkardt scored both goals as Mainz got a win to close in on Bochum. They are now 6 points away in the relegation avoidance battle.

⚽ UNION BERLIN 2-1 WERDER BREMEN
Union Berlin picked up a home win to narrow the gap between themselves and Werder Bremen to two points.

⚽ WOLFSBURG 1-3 AUGSBURG
Patrick Wimmer scored the game’s opening goal in the 9th minute to get Wolfsburg in the lead, before getting sent off with a red card in the 45th minute. It took less than 2 minutes after Wimmer’s sending off for Augsburg to find the equalizing goal; Arne Maier scored in the second minute of added time (45+2’) to level the score. Kristijan Jakic scored a brace in the second half to secure a 3-1 win for Augsburg.

⚽ LENS 1-3 NICE
Nice won their first league game in seven, while ending Lens’ short winning streak in the league at two matches. Terem Moffi scored twice in Nice’s 3-1 win in Lens, a result that allowed them to leapfrog Lens in the standings by a point.

⚽ NANTES 1-3 STRASBOURG
Emanuel Emegha scored twice in the second half to give Strasbourg a win at Nantes after a 1-all first half draw.

Manchester City is on track to defend their title, while Conentry City shocked Wolves.

⚽ MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED
The defending champions advanced: Bernardo Silva’s two goals in the opening half of the match were enough to advance Manchester City to the FA Cup semi finals, knocking Newcastle out.

⚽ WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 2-3 COVENTRY CITY
Ellis Simms scored his second goal of the match in the seventh minute of added time (90+7’) to even the score for Coventry, before Haji Wrigton netted the deciding goal in 90+10’ to give Coventry a 3-2 away win to advance to the FA Cup semifinal at Wolves’ expense. It looked as if Wolves had completed a comeback with just a couple of minutes left in added time. Rayan Ait Nouri scored in the 83rd minute and assisted Hugo Bueno to score another in the 88th minute to see Wolves come from behind to take a 2-1 lead, wiping out the lead Ellis Simms had given Coventry City in the 53rd minute.

⚽ MONZA 1-0 CAGLIARI
After scoring last round’s game-winning goal for Monza against Genoa in their ‘3-2’ win, Daniel Maldini scored the game’s only goal to get Monza a ‘1-0 win against Cagliari.

⚽ MANCHESTER UNITED 4-3 LIVERPOOL
Manchester United emerged victorious in a thrilling 7-goal encounter against Liverpool. Liverpool managed to find two goals at the end of the first half to overturn the lead Scott McTominay had given Manchester United in the 10th minute, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime with goals from Alexis Mac Allister in the 44th minute and Mohamed Salah in the 45+2nd minute.

Antony entered the match in the 71st minute and scored in the 87th minute to force extra time for Manchester United.
In the first half of extra time, Harvey Elliot scored with a beautiful strike to restore Liverpool’s lead in the 105th minute.
Marcus Rashford leveled the score once again for Manchester United in the 112th minute. In the dying minutes of the game, Amad Diallo finished off a counterattack in injury time (120+1st minute) to clinch the victory for Manchester United.

⚽ CHELSEA 4-2 LEICESTER CITY
Had Raheem Sterling been more clinical in front of goal, Chelsea might have secured a more comfortable victory against Leicester City. After holding a 2-goal lead in the first half, Chelsea saw their advantage slip away in the second half. However, two late goals in added time restored their lead and prevented the match from going into extra time, allowing them to advance to the semifinals of the FA Cup.

Manchester United advanced to face Coventry City in the semifinal, while Chelsea will face Manchester City.

Atletico Madrid hosted a Barcelona side eager to secure points in the league title race, and their determination was evident as Barcelona clinched three points with a 3-0 victory. Robert Lewandowski scored a goal and provided assists for the other two goals.

Almeria’s quest for their inaugural league victory of the season culminated in Las Palmas, as Leo Baptistao netted the game’s solitary goal, securing the visitors their first three points of the season.

Celta Vigo staged a comeback, overcoming a 1-0 deficit in the first half to score two goals in the second half, resulting in a 2-1 victory over Sevilla in Seville.

Inter Milan dropped points, but their lead in the title race remains significant. The league leaders shared the points in a 1-all draw with the reigning champions, as Napoli came from a goal down to secure an away point against Inter Milan.

Fiorentina’s match against Atalanta was postponed due to CEO Joe Barone falling ill.

Juventus dropped points at home in a goalless draw with Genoa, and additionally lost Dusan Vlahovic to a red card late in the game (90+3rd minute).

Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the solitary goal to secure three points for Roma at home against Sassuolo.

PSV Eindhoven seemed destined to drop points at home against FC Twente until Ricardo Pepi scored the game’s only goal in the 97th minute.

Ajax fought back from a two-goal deficit to salvage a 2-2 draw against Sparta Rotterdam in Rotterdam.

⚽ SC HEERENVEEN 2-3 FEYENOORD
Feyenoord, after trailing on two occasions, clinched a late winning goal in the 88th minute to secure a 3-2 victory over Heerenveen.

AZ Alkmaar cruised to an expected and comfortable 4-0 win against bottom-ranked Volendam.

Paris St. Germain dominated the second half to seal the win after the first half ended in a ‘2-2’ draw. Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick as Paris St. Germain secured a resounding 6-2 victory at Montpellier.

⚽ FREIBURG 2-3 BAYER LEVERKUSEN
Bayer Leverkusen added three more points to their season tally, maintaining their lead in the Bundesliga title race with a 3-2 victory over Freiburg.

⚽ BORUSSIA DORTMUND 3-1 EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
Dortmund rallied from a goal down to secure a 3-1 home win over Frankfurt, with Mats Hummels scoring the decisive goal in the 81st minute.

⚽ SPORTING CP 6-1 BOAVISTA
Despite conceding a goal in the third minute, Sporting CP bounced back to secure the required result to maintain their lead in the title race. Viktor Gyokeres scored a hat-trick in Sporting CP’s commanding 6-1 victory over Boavista, helping them retain their position at the top of the Primeira Liga standings with a game in hand. This victory was crucial for Sporting CP, especially after Benfica secured a win against Casa Pia

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both played away matches, with Fenerbahce facing Trabzonspor and Galatasaray against Kasimpasa. In both instances, the clubs managed to secure narrow victories, each winning by a single goal margin. These wins were sealed by late goals from substitutes who scored soon after entering the game.

⚽ KASIMPASA 3-4 GALATASARAY
Galatasaray survived a scare to win 4-3 away against Kasimpasa. Dries Mertens opened the scoring with a wonder strike to give Galatasaray the lead in the 27th minute, but an accidental own-goal by Mauro Icardi leveled the score in the 34th minute, sending the game into halftime level. Icardi scored three minutes after the restart to restore Galatasaray’s lead (3-2), only for Kasimpasa to come from behind again and take the lead with goals in the 57th and 77th minutes.

Galatasaray quickly got a chance to equalize after a penalty was awarded in their favor, and a red card was shown to Kasimpasa’s defender Claudio Winck. Mauro Icardi saw his penalty kick saved but was able to find a headed goal a couple of minutes later to bring Galatasaray level (3-3).

Vinicius, who entered the game in the 89th minute to replace Dries Mertens, scored the game-winning goal for Galatasaray a minute later to secure a 4-3 victory.

⚽ TRABZONSPOR 2-3 FENERBAHCE
It was a significant win for Fenerbahce as they emerged victorious in their match against Trabzonspor by a single goal margin, despite squandering a 2-0 lead in the second half. Michy Batshuayi entered the game in the 83rd minute and scored the game-winning goal five minutes later for Fenerbahce, sealing a 3-2 win.

Fred scored two goals, assisted by Dusan Tadic, to give Fenerbahce a 2-0 lead going into halftime. However, their advantage almost slipped away in the end when Trabzonspor mounted a comeback to level the score in the second half with goals from Enis Bardhi in the 63rd minute and Trezeguet from the penalty spot in the 78th minute.
