Alexandre Lacazette’s goal from the penalty spot ended up winning Lyon the tie.
Goalkeeper Anthony Lopes conceded a penalty and a red card to end up cutting Lyon’s lead in half, handing them the task of protecting a goal lead with a numerical disadvantage.

Monaco took three points from Strasbourg through a narrow 2-1 win.

Paris St. Germain kicked off their title defense season with a 5- 0 win against Clermont.
Neymar opened the scoring for the game and also assisted three of the five Paris St. Germain goals.
Lionel Messi capped the scoring with two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation time.

Florian Sotoca’s hattrick led Lens to a 3-2 win against Brest.

Lille was up a goal in the first minute and had a 2- goal lead by the third minute against newly-promoted Auxerre. It ended a 4-1 win for Lille.

It was a 2-2 draw by the 20-minute mark but Téji Savanier’s second goal of the game handed Montpellier a 3-2 win against Troyes.

It was against the run of play but Lorient took the three points from Rennes through an own goal.

The round ended with Marielle’s comfortable 4-1 win against Reims. The Colombian Luiz Suarez scored a brace on his debut after entering the match in the 62nd.
