LEADING GOAL SCORERS

The European Golden Shoe hasn’t been won by a German Bundesliga player in almost half a century.
A non-German is looking to return the European Golden Shoe back to the Bundesliga for the first in 49 years.

Last season, Ciro Immobile brought the European Golden Shoe trophy to Italy for the first time since 2007.
This season, Robert Lewandowski is on track to do better.
Lewandowski can bring the trophy to the German Bundesliga for the first time since 1972.

Gerd Muller was the first player to win multiple European Golden Shoe awards. (1970 and 1972).
Muller’s 1970 win was the first time the award was won by a player in the German Bundesliga; and his 1972 win was the last time.
He’s been the only player from the German Bundesliga (and Bayern Munich) to win the award.
He’s been the only German player to win the award.

Should Robert Lewandowski go on to win the European Golden Shoe, he will be the second Bayern Munich and German Bundesliga player to win it.
He will be the first Polish player to win it.

ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI

Four hat-tricks scored already in the German Bundesliga. One of the hattrick was part of 4 goals he scored against Hertha Berlin
He scored all 4 goals in Bayern Munich’s 4-3 win against Hertha Berlin.

The only other player in Europe’s top 5leagues with multiple hat tricks is Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla)

21 more goals than the current trophy holder (Ciro immobile); Robert Lewandowski is coming for the European Golden Shoe he missed out on.
There were various reasons why Lewandwoski missed out on the European Golden Shoe last season. {We will not get into those reasons now.}

Robert Lewandowski is 12 goals clear at the top of the list in the run for the European Golden Shoe.
He is the only player to have 30+ goals.
