Manchester City remained 2 points away from the top after narrowly coming out with a victory at home against Fulham.
Arsenal kept the top spot in the league standings by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Newcastle moved up a position to third with a win against Southampton.
Tottenham falls a position to 4th after their home defeat to Liverpool in the final match of the round.
Manchester United kept 5th place despite a defeat against Aston Villa.
Chelsea dropped a position to 7th after their defeat against Arsenal.
Brighton moved up two positions to 6th with their win at Wolves.

Bottom-tabled Nottingham Forest picked up a point after a draw with Brentford.
Leicester City used a 2-0 win at Goodison Park to move out of the relegation zone.
Southampton dropped into the relegation zone as Leicester City’s replacement.
