Arsenal kept their position at the top of the Premier League table. Two goals in the opening 15 minutes were enough to get Arsenal the three points at home in a 2-1 victory over Wolves.

Brentford scored the majority of the goals in the second half to end consecutive league defeats with a 3-1 victory against Luton Town.

It was an opportunity for one of these two promoted clubs to double their win tally in the league, and Burnley did so at Sheffield United’s expense. A 5-0 win against Sheffield United was Burnley’s second league win of the season. Both of Burnley’s victories have come against fellow promoted clubs.

Dwight McNeil scored the only goal of the game to get Everton a win, getting them started on making up for their 10-point deduction. Everton beat Nottingham Forest 1-0.

Anthony Gordon scored the deciding goal in the 55th minute to get Newcastle United a 1-0 home win over Manchester United. This was Manchester United’s first defeat to an English club since they lost 3-0 to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup and their first league defeat since the Manchester derby defeat at home to Manchester City. After three straight wins against struggling teams (Fulham, Luton, and Everton), Manchester United was brought back down. Both teams began this season with the expectation of improving upon their previous season’s performance. While neither side has had an easy go of it, Newcastle United is demonstrating that it is fulfilling its expectations better than Manchester United.

Watkins saved Aston Villa from defeat with a late goal as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth.

A 10-man Chelsea side emerged victorious in a closely-contested 3-2 home win over Brighton. Enzo Fernandez scored his first two goals for the Blues in this fixture, with his second coming from the penalty spot and proving to be the match-winner. Chelsea were reduced to ten men for the entirety of the second half after Conor Gallagher picked up a second yellow card late in the first half. The result means that Brighton have now won just once in their last eight league games, while Chelsea bounced back from their 4-1 defeat at Newcastle in the previous round.

Fulham led 3-2 when Wataru Endo was substituted into the game in the 83rd minute. Endo scored the equalizer for Liverpool in the 87th minute, and Alexander-Arnold scored the game-winning goal for Liverpool in the 88th minute. Liverpool secured a 4-3 victory over Fulham thanks to a series of impressive goals. The opening goal of the match was credited to Bernd Leno as an own goal, but it was the result of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free kick. Fulham equalized on two occasions in the first half and then took the lead in the second half.

West Ham and Crystal Palace shared the points in a ‘1-1’ draw.

Manchester City and Tottenham extended their winless runs in the league. Dejan Kulusevski’s late equalizer helped Tottenham end a three-game losing streak, while extending Manchester City’s run to three consecutive draws. Manchester City drew 4-4 with Chelsea, 1-1 with Liverpool, and now 3-3 with Tottenham. That is six points dropped for a team looking to win the Premier League title for a fourth consecutive season.
