Tottenham’s defeat against Wolves allowed Manchester City to remain top of the table by a point with a draw from Chelsea. Liverpool moved up to the second place, as Tottenham dropped two positions to 4th. Arsenal moved up a position to 3rd with a win against Burnley. The three promoted clubs occupy the relegation zone spots, with Burnley falling to the bottom of the table.

It’s back-to-back league defeats for Tottenham. Going a goal up in the opening three minutes seemed like the perfect start for a Tottenham side coming from their first league defeat of the season. However, they conceded two goals in the final added minutes, losing 2-1 away against Wolves. Pablo Sarabia scored Wolves’ equalizing goal in the 90+1st minute, canceling Brennan Johnson’s early lead. Mario Lemina scored the winning goal six minutes later.

It took the entirety of the first half for Arsenal to get the game’s opening goal. Arsenal followed their first league defeat of the season with a home win against a struggling Burnley side. Despite losing the lead for about three minutes in the second half, it was a comfortable match for the home side.

Vitali Mykolenko opened the scoring in the first minute, but Idrissa Gana Gueye’s goal in the 86th minute secured Everton three points in their away victory against Crystal Palace.

Manchester United grinds out narrow win against Luton Town. Manchester United secured a narrow but much-needed win at home against Luton Town. Victor Lindelof scored the only goal of the game, giving Manchester United consecutive league wins.

Solanke’s brace downs Newcastle. Bournemouth’s recovery from a 6-1 defeat against Manchester City was a win over Newcastle. Dominic Solanke’s second-half brace secured Bournemouth a 2-0 win against Newcastle United. Newcastle United followed their Champions League defeat in Dortmund with a league defeat in Bournemouth.

Aston Villa bounced back from defeat in the last round with a victory over Fulham.

Despite taking an early lead and enjoying the support of home fans, Brighton extended their winless streak to six league games, dropping points in a ‘1-1’ draw against Sheffield United, who came to the game on the back of their first league win of the season.

Brentford’s three-game winning streak came to an end in a ‘3-0’ defeat at Anfield, with
Mohamed Salah scoring a brace for Liverpool to compensate for the points dropped in Luton in the last round.

Tomas Soucek’s goal in the 88th minute handed West Ham their first league win in five games through a ‘3-2’ home victory over Nottingham Forest.

Erling Haaland scored two goals. Both teams were awarded penalties, and both teams scored injury-time goals. Eight goals were evenly split between Chelsea and Manchester City as the two sides earned a point each in an exciting ‘4-4’ draw that remained level at the end of both halves. Chelsea has now scored eight league goals in two games, following a ‘4-1’ win against Tottenham with a ‘4-4’ draw with Manchester City. It was a massive two points dropped for Manchester City and a significant point gained by Chelsea.
