When it comes to UEFA Champions League trophy wins, FC Barcelona is at the half way mark on their quest to catch up with arch-rival Real Madrid.

But one thing they have over their rivals is that they have won a ‘Treble”. As great as Madrid has been in football, they have failed in getting a ‘treble’ winning season. In 2015, FC Barcelona became the only team in UEFA to multiple trebles winning season. Very few teams can boast of an European Treble wins. It has occurred 9 times in history, with 8 teams in this small prestigious group. FC Barcelona is now the only team that has won the Treble twice. It was a perfect goodbye to Xavi Hernandez and a perfect welcome for Luis Enrique.

In less than a decade, FC Barcelona has won 4 times more UEFA Champions League titles than they had done during their entire existence as a football club.

FC Barcelona has always been a force in Europe, but to many fans, Ronaldinho , Messi, Iniesta, Xavi & Co. have been the foundation for Barcelona’s incredible rise in the power rankings Europe’s football clubs. They’ve created what is arguably one of the best football teams in history. Their peak was in the 2008/2009. The world did not have a solution to Barcelona’s style of play. It took the winning of champions league, the euros and the world cup for the rest of the football world to find some solution to the ‘tiki-taka’ style of play.
