Zidane has now won the Champions League in every season he managed the team. That is three champions league titles for the football legend.

Juventus conceded more goals in the final that they did throughout the knockout stage, as Real Madrid became the first team in history to win a back to back UEFA Champions League title.

Juventus has now been to 9 finals and lost 7.  A record no team will envy. It was probably Gianluigi Buffon and most of Juventus line-up final attempt to get their hand on the trophy.

Cristiano Ronaldo contributed two goals to Real Madrid’s victory and finished as the top goalscorer in this year’s edition of the Champions League.

It was title number 12 for Real Madrid after Casemiro beat Gianluigi Buffon to get the winning goal against Juventus in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League final.

Juan Cuadrado; arguably the best weapon that Juventus had on the bench came into the match in the second half and lasted just a little over 30 minutes before being sent off to a red card in the 84th minute for the accumulation of yellow cards.

The journey for these teams brought us some of the most mouth-watering encounters in the football calendar of 2016/17.

Both of these teams had gone through the competition without a defeat, and so something had to give in the finale. Juventus had to go through Sevilla, Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb, FC Porto, FC Barcelona and AS Monaco to get to the final, while Real Madrid did not get it any easier by going against Borussia Dortmund, Legia Warsaw. Sporting CP, Napoli, Bayern Munich, and local rivals Atletico Madrid.

Juventus finished top of Group H.

In the knockout stage, Juventus had got a ‘3-0’ aggregate victory against Porto in the Round of 16, a 3-0 aggregate victory over FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals, and a ‘4-1’ aggregate victory over AS Monaco in the semifinals.

Real Madrid did their job by knocking out Napoli in the ‘Round of 16’ stage to a ‘6-2’ aggregate score, then a ‘6-3’ on aggregate victory over the mighty Bayern Munich, before taking out local rival Atletico Madrid down on a ‘4-2’ aggregate score.

Despite remaining undefeated through the competition, Real Madrid finished second in Group F to Borussia Dortmund
