Real Sociedad      1-0     Deportivo La Coruna

Willian Jose 28’

A home victory for Real Sociedad sees them make up for their defeat to Barcelona in their previous fixture.

Celta Vigo          0-1          Real Betis

                                          Darko Brasanac 54’

Real Betis surprised Celta Vigo and picked up maximum points in an away victory.

Las Palmas         1-1             Alaves

Kevin-Prince Boateng 44’   Ibai Gomez 61’

Las Palmas and Alaves played out another ‘1-1’ draw.

Real Madrid        2-3         Barcelona

Casemiro 28’                    Lionel Messi 33’ 90’+2’
James Rodriguez 85’        Ivan Rakitic 73’

Barcelona needed this victory to better their odds of retaining the league title.

Lionel Messi scored his 500th goal for FC Barcelona while delivering his side the victory in the second round of the La Liga El Clasico.

Unlike their first meeting of the season, Sergio Ramos couldn’t get a late header to give Real Madrid their desired result. Ramos was sent off in the 77th-minute after receiving a straight red card for launching a two-footed tackle to stop Lionel Messi in a breakaway counterattack.

Barcelona climbed to the top of the league table with this victory, but Real Madrid if Real Madrid is to keep a 100% winning record in their next 6 league matches, this defeat wouldn’t impact their title ambitions.

April 24, 2017

                                      Raul Garcia 90’4’

Raul Garcia scored a late extra-time goal to give Athletic Club an away victory over a 10-man Eibar side.

Eibar had to play the majority of the second half with fewer men when Gonzalo Escalante was sent off on a straight red card.
