Spanish La Liga after Round 24 – Celta Vigo tightened the title race at the Bernabeu.

Eibar and Real Sociedad have a match in hand after the postponement of their fixture due to air pollution in the area.

There were some shuffling in position, but the teams in the top half remained in the top half of the league standings.

There is now a 10-point gap between the top two and the rest of the league, while Real Madrid’s lead is reduced to a point.

None of the bottom 4 teams suffered a defeat over the round despite staying put in their positions.
Espanyol and Celta Vigo managed a ‘2-2’ draw on the road. Leganes came out with a point from a goalless draw against Real Betis, while Mallorca beat Alaves ‘1-0’

Mallorca ended a run of four straight defeats through a ‘1-0’ win against Alaves.

Barcelona made it a battle at the end, but the team went on to beat Getafe and opened a 10-point gap on them in the league standings.

Levante returned to losing ways after ending a losing streak in the last round by beating relegation bounded Leganes. Moi Gomez restored Villarreal’s lead in the 61st-minute for his side to end the match ‘2-1’ winners against Levante.

Carlos Fernandez scored deep in additional time for Granada to complete a late comeback and win at home against Real Valladolid.

Sevilla failed to get the needed result to help them poke their way back into the top four.
A ‘2-2’ draw at home against bottom tabled Espanyol was the best Sevilla could do in this round.

Leganes and Real Betis shared the point.

It was against the odds but Osasuna avoided three straight defeats after managing to leave with three points from Bilbao. The result made it three straight league defeats for Athletic Club and their 9th winless league fixture.

Real Madrid’s lead at the top was reduced to a point when Santi Mina scored an 85th-minute equalizing goal for Celta Vigo to leave the Bernabeu with a point from a 2-2 draw.
