‘Sevilla – Roma’, ‘Fiorentina – West Ham’ : UEFA Europa League and Conference League finals are set.

We have ‘Sevilla vs. Roma’ for the Europa League final, and ‘Fiorentina vs. West Ham United’ for the Conference League final.

Sevilla will be going for their 7th Europa League title against the current Conference League title holders.

 

 

UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE

 

Leverkusen 0-0 Roma

Roma won 1-0 on aggregate.

The result did not reflect the dominance of the losing team in a one-sided match.
Roma managed to successfully defend their narrow first-leg lead of ‘1-0’ in Leverkusen, resulting in their elimination of Bayer Leverkusen from the competition.

 

Sevilla 2-1 Juventus (aet)

Sevilla won 3-2 on aggregate.

Juventus faced a challenging task as they sought a victory against Sevilla, the most successful team in the history of the competition. It ended as a failure for Juventus, despite being first to get on the score sheet.

Both teams got their goals through a second half substitute, as Sevilla came from a goal down to beat Juventus to the final.
Dusan Vhlahovic entered the game in the 64th minute and scored the game opening goal in the 65th to give Juventus the lead.
Suso entered the game in the 62nd minute and scored the equalizing goal for Sevilla in the 71st minute, assisted by Erik Lamela who had been on the pitch for a minute.
Lamela went on to score the game winning goal in the first half of extra time (95th minute).

UEFA CONFERENCE LEAGUE

 

AZ Alkmaar 0-1 West Ham United

West Ham United won ‘3-1’ on aggregate.
Pablo Fornals scored the only goal of the game to add to West Ham’s lead from the first-leg.

 

Basel 1-3 Fiorentina (aet)

Fiorentina won 4-3 on aggregate.
Fiorentina bounced back from their 2-1 defeat in the first leg to send the game into extra time, and avoided a penalty shootout when Antonin Barak scored 9 minutes after 120 minutes had been exhausted to get Fiorentina a 3-1 win on the night and a ‘4-3’ aggregate win against Basel.
