Sampdoria made home advantage count when they found a way to defeat Genoa in a match that was difficult to tell what team deserved a win.

 

It was Genoa’s third loss of the season and Sampdoria’s third win of the season.

Another Milan team defeats Juventus at the San Siro. AC Milan handed Juventus their second league defeat.

AC Milan made sure the gap at the top of the Serie A remained close by beating the league leaders.  AC Milan gained three points to move just three points away from the league leaders.  

 

As expected, Juventus dominated the match and even had a goal disallowed. A second half strike from AC Milan’s Manuel Locatelli ended up as the winning goal.

Inter Milan goes on four winless matches and a third consecutive defeat in the league after an away loss to Atalanta.

After Eder brought Inter Milan level with an equalizer in the 51st minute, Mauricio Pinilla scored a late goal for Atalanta to deny Inter Milan any point from the match.

In a thrilling match that provided 8 goals, Fiorentina secured an away victory to put a stop to Cagliari’s three-match winning streak.

Nikola Kalinic scored a hattrick while Federico Bernardeschi scored a brace to help Fiorentina take maximum points from the match.  

 

Fiorentina had to come back from an early goal down to end the first half 3 goals up. A result looked out of Cagliari reach when Fiorentina was taking a 3 goal lead into the break.

A 10-man Napoli team secured an away win over newly promoted Crotone with two first half goals.

Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini was sent off in the 31st minute through a red card.

 

Empoli                              0-0                       Chievo Verona

 

Chievo Verona finished the match with fewer men after a goalless draw against Empoli. Lucas Castro was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 80th minute.

 

Torino                                    2-2                    Lazio

When it looked like Lazio had come from a goal down to grab an away win from Torino, a late goal from Adem  Ljajic saved Torino a home defeat and gave the team a valuable point.

 

Both teams started the match equal on points, and finished the same way. Lazio is undefeated in four matches while Torino remained undefeated in six matches.

After chasing the game for what seemed like the entire match, Alessandro Matri scored a late goal for Sassuolo to deny Bologna a home win.

Roma exposed the gap in class with a convincing performance against relegation zoned Palermo.
