However, Juventus and the rest of the teams in the top 5 still have a game in hand.

Bologna                      2-0           Sampdoria

Simone Verdi 45’

Mattia Destro 50’’

Sampdoria suffered their third consecutive loss in the 2016/17 Serie A. Simone Verdi and Mattia Destro scored a goal each in the second half to get Bologna back to their winning ways after falling to Napoli.

Bologna season has been up and down, they win and lose every other match.

Atalanta                     0-1            Palermo

Ilija Nestorovski 89’

Palermo moved from the relegation zone with their first win of the season. A late goal in the 89th minute from Ilija Nestorovski.

Chievo Verona                  2-1                Sassuolo

Nicola Rigoni 21’                                     Gregoire Defrel 28’

Lucas Nahuel Castro 40’

It was a 2-1 home win for CheivoVerona. The match was decided by three goals in the second half. The home side took the lead in the 21st minute and had to regain it in the 40th minute after Sassuolo equalized in the 28th minute.

This could be a start of a winning streak for ChievoVerona. It was the end of a winning streak for Sassuolo.

Empoli                      0-2            Inter Milan

                                                     Mauro Icardi 10’ 17’

Inter Milan is back?

Another win for Inter Milan, as they climb up the league table. Mauro Icardi scored two goals early in the first half  to hand Inter Milan all three points away at Empoli.

Inter Milan and their fans are enjoying three wins in a row in the Serie A. The biggest win was against the defending champions, Juventus.

Empoli’s only win of the season has come from the newly promoted Crotone. This leaves Empoli in the relegation zone after the first five matches.

Genoa                        0-0             Napoli

Genoa stopped Napoli from climbing to the top of the Serie A table with a goalless draw.

Juventus                          4-0            Cagliari

Daniele Rugani 14’

Gonzalo Higuain 34’

Daniel Alves 39’

Luca Ceppitelli 84’(o.g)

A 4-0 win against Cagliari was how Juventus made up for their defeat against Inter Milan in their previous match.

Despite  the fact that Cagliari was coming from a win and Juventus was coming from a loss, Juventus was still heavy favorites to take all three points from this match. Not a lot was expected for Cagliari in this match.

Juventus winning and Napoli drawing their match against Genoa, takes Juventus back to the top of the pile in Serie A.

Pescara                    0-0            Torino

Torino had to finish the match with 9 men after they had a player sent off in each half. Afriyie Acquah was sent off in the 45th minute after receiving two red cards, and Giuseppe Vives was sent off in the 79th from a straight red card.

They had equal points on the table at the start of the match and finished with that way.

Roma                                   4-0             Crotone

Stephan El Shaarawy 26’

Mohamed Salah 37’

Edin Dzeko 48’ 57’

Crotone was no match for Roma.

Newly promoted Crotone is finding it hard to find their first win in the Serie A.

It was a convincing 4-0 victory to Roma when they welcomed Crotone at the Stadio Olimpico.

At 4-0 down, Raffaele Palladino had a chance to get a consolation goal for Crotone but missed the penalty opportunity.

Udinese                          2-2                 Fiorentina

Duvan Zapata 26’                                Khouma Babacar 30’

Danilo 45’                                              Federico Bernardeschi 52’(pen)

Fiorentina had to come from a goal down on two occasions to get a point from their away match against Udinese.
