Real Sociedad win the Basque derby to stay at the top with a slight advantage.

The Spanish La Liga after Round 12.
A point from the Basque derby kept Real Sociedad at the top of the league table by a point (without a match in hand).
The three teams following Real Sociedad in the title race are all with a game in hand to leap ahead.
Atletico Madrid knocked Real Betis out of the ‘top four’.
Barcelona remained in 9th place.
Getafe stayed bottom of the table but their win against Espanyol allowed for them to equal Levante in accumulated points. (after Levante’s defeat in the final match of the round).
The bottom three remained as there were at the start of the round.
Eight teams are with a game in hand; Real Madrid, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, Barcelona, Villarreal, Granada, and Alaves.

Valencia won their first match in 8 games to open a four-point gap between themselves and Villarreal.

BARCELONA 1- 1 A LAVES
Memphis Depay scored a beautiful goal to break the deadlock after a goalless first half but Depay’s goal couldn’t hold and give Barcelona the win they probably deserved.
Luis Rioja’s goal in the 52nd minute allowed A- lares a point to deny Barcelona a win at the end of two successive defeats.

CADIZ 1-1 MALLORCA
A reckless tackle from behind gave Cadiz the opportunity from the penalty spot to get a point at home against a Mallorca team that had been reduced by two players in the final ten minutes of the regulation time.

ATLETICO MADRID 3- 0 REAL BETIS
Atletico Madrid ended a run of two successive draws with this victory while ending Real Betis run of three wins

GETAFE 2- 1 ESPANYOL
Enes Unal’s brace got Getafe to their first win of the season.

REAL SOCIEDAD 1- 1 ATHLETIC CLUB
Inigo Martinez picked up his second yellow card in the 84th minute to leave Athletic Club a goal down and a man down but Iker Muniain scored from a free kick in the first minute of the final added time to get Athletic Club a point in the Basque derby.


RAYO VALLECANO 0-0 CELTA VIGO
Rayo Vallecano followed up a victory against Barcelona with the dropping of points against a Celta Vigo. There remain 9 points between the two teams.

LEVANTE 0-3 GRANADA
With a game in hand, Granada opened a 5-point gap on Levante. The winless run for Levante continues to Alaves.
